Problems with Joomla, SMF, Joomlahacks Bridge, OpenWP and OpenSEF
« on: December 07, 2006, 07:05:54 PM »

I am building a site with Joomla, SMF, Joomlahacks Bridge, OpenWP and OpenSEF.

Everything was working fine until I tried to implement SEF. Suddenly whenever I try to drill down into the WordPress article suddenly I get a message "invalid request variable". this seems to be generated by the function cleanRequest the particular statement being:

Quote
   if (isset($_REQUEST['GLOBALS']) || isset($_COOKIE['GLOBALS']))
      die('Invalid request variable.');

What I would like to know is why is SMF generating this message and is it something that would be caused by OpenSEF.

Also is there a way of getting all these components working cleanly together.

My site is www.seriousgadgets.com which may or may not be working if you come for a look.

I am posting this to a number of sites in the hope that someone can help.

I was wrong in the statement that was causing my problem. In the file QueryString.php the statement that is causing my issue is:-

Quote
      if (is_numeric($key))
         die('Invalid request variable.');

However if I remove this code completely everything seems to work fine.

Does anyone know why this test exists and whether I will get other problems if I remove it?
