Looking for Joomla module(s) for advanced front end use
« on: December 07, 2006, 02:50:16 PM »

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any advice. I'm looking for a module or modules (stable, integrateable ones) that will allow me to do the following:

- Let front-end users provide translations of content along with their content

- Let front-end users upload and resize images (we have already tried a module for a more advanced WYSIWYG editor that allows upload, but the function for resizing just crashes)

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Sincerely,
Kim

Thanks for the link, but I've looked through most of the components there.

The editor we tried already was JCE Editor, and I made a mistake, it crashes when we try to upload images from the user end. So we never even get to the resizing part Smiley

Basically our goal is to ease front-end use.

As for the language issues, we have MyContent installed, but it doesn't have ability to post/translate into French. As it stands, to do a french translation of an article, we would have to give the user front end access to upload the english content, then backend access to do the translation, which is impossible, both because it is not friendly towards non-tech people (this is why we can't just give them backend access for both, as well), and it makes the process of translating tedious.
