Yes, I have that probelm too, I only want the username to be shown, not the real name. I've got the same setup...

Wiped out my site and redid it with Joomla-SMF Forum 2.0 RC3 but it still shows the realname.

Is there anything else I may have missed?

Ah ha!

That is exactly what is going on...Any existing accounts prior to installation of the new bridge display real name instead of username and going in and updating profile fixes it.

Now that thats all straightened out, onward to further develop my site.

I just find there is a mix up with real name and usernames.

Real Name = Real name, mine is Tom
Username = name you want to use in forum or site, mine is Crazycanuck

For some reason, some Joomla sites like this one, display my real name and not my nick/username.
At Joomlapolism, my nick/username Canuck is displayed as it should be, but at Joomla.org, my real name is displayed (but in that case I used my username/nick for both real and user, I caught on to it )

I look at my members list, and 100% of my members have nicks as usernames. Those that entered their real names in the real name box, are freaked out at first when they see their real name being displayed. I was getting a lot of PMs from people about their real name being displayed, so I posted above the forums and made a sticky in the forums as to how to change the displayed name to their nick.
In this forum my username, which is Crazycanuck, is hidden, while my real name Tom is shown, which was not meant to be shown.

Lots of confusion.
