Forum redirects to index.php instead of showing a warning!

when kickguests doesn't seem to work with this joomla-smf version. when a lurker tries to view a user profile, it's supposed to asked them to register and show "Only registered members are allowed to access this section.
Please login below or register an account with mywebsite.com" instead it redirects to the index.php page.
