i'd like to know how the patch to SMF files works: i mean, does it overwrite the original files with patched ones, or it add/modify the required lines to the original file?
i ask this because i run a joomla/SMF bridged site and i was wondering about istalling some big SMF mods, like SMF arcade, that modify index.php and other files; so i don't know if, after unpatching SMF file, installing the mod and re-patching, i'm gonna lose the modifications made from the mod...
ps: i searched thru the forum and i did not find anything about that, i hope this is the right place, if not forgiveme and move the topic...
pps: nice nice work, guys, i really like the script...
my config: joomla 1.0.11 ita SMF 1.1RC2 jSMF1.1.4.2
the original file is renamed with an extension of ~jsmf~backup~ and a copy of the original file is modified. When you unpatch or uninstall, the copy is removed and the original is renamed back to the original name.
i am also very interested on having the functionality of a couple of SMF mods, but though they install well through the SMF administration package manager, they donīt work(new functionality doesnīt appear at all)
I asume itīs because of the bridge, and i read in an older post by Wolverine, that some SMF mods would need to be modified in order to work with the bridge.
Is there any way that some instructions or help on what pattern or steps need to be followed in order to make mods work with a bridged SMF?
