What Joomla/SMF Hack is best for me...?

I apologize in advance for not being able to figure this out, but I'm very new at all of this (including Joomla) and feel that I'm in over my head  Huh

I have Joomla 1.0.11 and SMF 1.0.9
I do not have Community Builder.
I am using this Hack with the AEC Subscription Managment Component ( from globalnerd.org)

What is the best Hack for my set up?

upgrade to SMF 1.1 and use the Joomlahacks Bridge Smiley

I have SMF 1.1 and Joomla SMF bridge 2.0, i can't pass where he ask me about the path of my forum. What can I do?
