Hey everyone, I noticed our extension over on http://extensions.joomla.org has had a rough time in the past and I thought it might be time to get some fresh input of the 2.0 version. I don't think the current comments for our extension reveal what JSMF 2.0 is all about. I'm inviting you all to go over and rate our extension and leave a review if you want. You can access our page directly using this link:
Yeah ahum if you read the Reviews already you can see whats going on. Too many bugs. For me, I cant even edit a profile and youre saying I have to wait for RC3.
the fix for that is in the JSMF 2.0RC2 thread, and it is only a release candidate not a final release, so the onus is on you if you choose to install it on live sites.
Yeah only you didnt give the fix you just told them the same you told me.
But like Wolverine mentioned, 2.0 is a release candidate, which means it's not an official release for a live site. Being a release candidate also means that it is not a stable release (obviously), so using it on live sites with the same expectation as you would with a stable release should not be your motivator
On another note, Joomla.org duplicated my review somehow

Ok, but if theres an error for people that cant even touch the Community Builder, why isnt this being fixed immediatly then, this is one of the most important things right. And what, why? Because we are supposed to rate it good right?
ok, don't rate it, I don't care, the problem is fixed but there are other issues being addressed. This is NOT the most important thing, contrary to your self centered thoughts.
Tell ya what, I'll just continue to devote my time for this project so that you can come in and berate me for it. Thanks so much. I'd rather you just not rate it and not post anything rather than be an a$$ about it.

I don't think you can blame a software for a unique problem that occurs only to a handful due to other external reasons. It's like blaming microsoft because warcraft3 crashes on your comp.
I'm not a huge fan of MS, but you get the idea

ps: I can view/update CB profiles with no problem. You sure you installed the cb-smf plugin that came with the package? You might want to delete that plugin and reinstall it again.

Im just working on my site for a too long time and the only reason I can't open it, is that people won't be able to edit their profile at all.. But after all, you're the creator of this magic and I am not trying to push you and all, it was just a request of a fix for right now, not a couple of days when rc3 is out. Btw most of us use rc's because it already has more, its not really a beta anymore and it usually shouldnt have big errors. But ok, have your time. Im just a happy user because of this component and ill wait for the rc3 when it comes out, and ill be even happier with just this fix now
its all good, we're getting closer to final every day. In fact, the last big problem I believe was resolved yesterday(its being tested all day today) so RC3 is almost ready to rumble.
Well your JSMF bridge was a real pleasure to finally get a hold of. I've been struggling with the SMF supplied bridge and all it's bugs for a long time. I was helping a friend put together a new site and spent days looking for a forum that would work nicely with Joomla.
SMF and the JSMF bridge is a far as I've found for a near perfect solution. The only thing missing is SEF Human Readable URLs so we all can score better in the SEO arena - this is a real current problem with Joomla at the moment, as far as I've read.
Anyway, I popped in a 10/10 Review at Joomla Extensions just now - you guys deserve a pat on the back for the great work you've put in. Once I get some paid work, I'll pop some Paypal $ at you.

Thx, really appreciate it. Its tough keeping my full time job and trying to keep up with this because I do contract work as well in the evenings. But this is fun for me and I am glad it is working well for the majority of users. Thanks for the rating.
Hi Wolverine, I took the time to post a review about your bridge. It's the least i can do after all the hard work you have put in. Do you know how long it takes from submitting the review to seeing it published?

Any chance you would send me your email via pm so I could ask you about the process you took to import your SMF database, and any pitfalls you may have ran into. I sure would like to add some details aobut it to the JSMF user guide.
