Hi, i have got all the brigdge working, but today i notice that Registration is not working well. It seems not working since i install the discussbot, but im not sure.
I change into Joomla Registration and everything is going fine, but i would like to use the SMF registration, but only buecause the activation button.
When the user try to register they get a blank page and no Email is sent to him. Im not sure where to look to give you more details about the issue. Thanks.
This is exactly what is happening to me. I'm not using CB at all and want to use the SMF registration. In the forum by itself, it works. When I access the forum through the bridge, the registration does not work.
Please help. I don't know how to turn on this error reporting in Joomla.
You yourself confirmed that the user is registered correctly, simply they don't get logged in immediately. I just tested this(I have always used member activation to prevent spambots from gaining easy access) and it failed to log me in as well however my user was correctly registered. I will look into the problem but there is no guarantee that there will be a solution. I recommend using Member Activation method instead.
Right, I said the user was registered, but a new user will just see the error and assume that it didn't work. The error is not acceptable of course. If they happen to try and login anyway, good for them.
I just changed registration to activate, which does avoid this issue so I'll stick with that. Of course, the activation email I got had a problem with the link in it. The word "Should" from the sentence that follows the link was actually included in the link so it doesn't work. I'll find that and fix it, then I'll be good to go.
Thanks for your help and thanks to whoever keeps smiting me just for trying to find an answer to a question that many people have been searching for an answer to...
OK, here is the code from the language file that is used for the activation email:
$txt['register_activate_message'] = 'You are now registered with an account at ' . $context['forum_name'] . ', %1$s!' . "\n\n" . 'Your account\'s username is %2$s and its password is %3$s (which can be changed later.)' . "\n\n" . 'Before you can login, you first need to activate your account. To do so, please follow this link:' . "\n\n" . '%5$s' . "\n\n" . 'Should you have any problems with activation, please use the code "%4$s".' . "\n\n" . $txt[130];
The problem I'm getting is that the word "Should" is being included in the actual link in the email, therefore making the activation code wrong and not working. What can I change in this to make the link stop before the "Should". Thanks.
