Synchronize Error

While i'm synchronizing users. It says "you can use only 0-9,a-z,A-Z in usernames" But my users used -,_ and space in their username. What can I do?

you have to change that username to be able to synchronize it... it violates the Joomla username rules

I have this same issue, and changing the username really isn't a good option as the users who have a dash "-" in their name have hundreds and hundreds of posts and PMs.  Any help would be really great!
