I am working on the opensef compatibility but it is going to take a bit.  The default Joomla SEF works though.

thanks i don't konw why the developer of sef is not being serious about compatiability,i have posted on his forum and sent mail..he said he will check it up to weeks but no response.....is there any other opean sef product out there where it is comaptiable ...re ...even if you create a seperate component and sell it, which is compatiable with most of the components..people will buy it..( i know i will be the first to).......like make one free and sell one which took you hours and days to code....just a thought...

The default Joomla SEF works though.

Great news !

I just installed Joomla 1.0.11 svn5800 and SMF 1.1 rc3 on my testing server built by XAMPP. Then I installed the Joomlahacks' bridge version 2.0 rc2. It works OK before I enable the SEF.

After I enable the original SEF of Joomla, I can't open my website. An error message saying:

Code:
Server error!
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a CGI script.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Apache/2.2.3 (Win32) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.3 OpenSSL/0.9.8d mod_autoindex_color PHP/5.1.6

What's wrong ? Do I need a special .htaccess file?

Thank you !

My .htaccess file is the htaccess.txt file in Joomla 1.0.11 svn 5800. I never modified it, just renamed it.

So, do I need to edit this file?

Please help me. You can see this file in attachment. Tell me where should I change.

xampp does not have mod_rewrite enabled by default.  You must enable it in apaches httpd.conf to use Joomla SEF and your .htaccess.

Thank you for your information.

I checked the hpptd.conf file and found a comment symbol at the start of line 119 which is saying "LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so
".

I removed the comment symbol and restarted my testing server.

Yes, it worked very well. Now the Joomla and SMF both can work under SEF.

Thanks alot.

Has their been any progress on making SMF and Joomla with the JSMF bridge and OpenSEF have better SEF support to include Sections / Categories etc so keywords and the like get included in URLs ?

I don't seem to be able to determine whether the problem lies in OpenSEF or the JSMF bridge or SMF or a combo of all of them.
