AVATARS...Final piece of the Jigsaw

Hi Guys

After lots of help from this forum I'm nearly there...

My final problem relates to syncronising avatars from CB to SMF.

Profiles are syncing ok but the avatars are not. SMF login is saying "upload your avatar" even if the CB profile has an avatar attached. If I click on "upload your avatar" it brings me to the SMF "Forum Profile Information" but does not allow me to add an avatar.

If I have an avatar added in CB it does not update in SMF.

Any ideas,
As everything else is syncing fine it might be just a small thing ( I hope so)

So close with finishing my integration of SMF Bridge, so hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction.

Hi John

Nice site!

I've just installed SMF on my Joomla/CB site (www.carrickscouts.ie) and encountered the same issue.

You can add the Forum Profile tab to CB which provides an option for the user to manually sync. CB avatar to SMF. This works but is convoluted.

I'd like to see a better solution as well.

the avatar sync occurs for any *new* avatar uploads or selections. It does not sync current avatars. That functionality is not in the bridge *yet*.

I tried uploading a new profile image in CB, and it still doesn't show in SMF. My configuration is setup correctly. Am i doing something wrong?

My jsmf component is setup to redirect profile links to CB

I am using:

CBE sv0.6236 (latest version)
SMF 1.1 RC3 (latest version)
JSMF Forum 2.0RC1 (latest version)
and mod_cbelogin_2.458.zip (latest login module for CBE)

I'm not sure what you mean by

Could you guide me through it or point me in the right direction. I had a look around CB but couldn't find Forum Profile Tab.

Not happening for me either wolverine.

Account "guest" as listed above was created today, added avatar in CB and still no joy.

Wow coming together now

It works when I browse for a pic and upload it, but not with the directory of avatars listed.

In my case............wether I browse, or choose an avatar from the cb gallery, NOTHING SHOWS anyway. Could it be because i'm using Community Builder Enhanced?

Take care, the first listed package has one bad plug-in, you need to read down through the posts to pull all the correct versions together.

When you install these as CB plug ins, you get SMF fetures in CB, one of which is the Forum Profile tab.

On the Met Eireann module, I built it myself (my first!) based on part of their site. (had a look at the code and adapted it for Joomla module). I can give it to you if you like but I'm not sure if it would fly on a 'commercial' site. There are copyright issues, I expect.

On a side issue, I think you tried to register earlier but I had to refuse as there was not enough detail. If you want to try again, including verifiable info on your group, I can give you an account. We need to be careful about who gets full access to the site, I'm sure you understand.

The gallery of images in CB do *not* synchronize. This is a bug in the plugin framework CB provides. I have reported it but haven't heard if it will be fixed and/or when.

Could be, I did not test with CBE assuming it would operate in a similar fashion to CB.

CB and CBE are similar in some areas. But the code differs in other areas also. Phil_k at www.kolloczek.com has done a great job providing a Login Module that integrates with your JSMF component. I would love to see the avatars integrated though.

CBE will grow, especially now that more and more users are downloading it. Cool
