Logged out from SMF but not J!
« on: November 02, 2006, 01:53:15 PM »

After leaving myself logged in for a while, then going to the SMF page, SMF says I am not logged in (guest), but I am still logged into Joomla.  I have "remember me" set in cblogin.

Is this an error in my setup ?  (I'm not completely sure about my registration and login settings).

Thanks,
Patrick

JSMF 2.0RC1
Login: J!
First of all, it is recommended that you upgrade to JSMF 2.0RC2.  Second, if you set remember me in cb login it won't help you at all if you are using joomla login.  Finally, there are some session difficulties in the synchronization of them, read more about it in the FAQ in the JSMF user guide.

I'm planning to go to RC2 asap.  I will be putting it up on the staging server for testing today.  After a quick test I hope to get it on the live site tomorrow.  Thanks very much for the update.

I confess to being a little confused by the various login and registration settings.  I have J! login set in JSMF configuration, but I have mod_cblogin published as my only login module.  Is that a bug ?  Should I set login=CB login in my JSMF config ?  I sort of had the impression that JSMF would use J! and J! would use CB ... like I said, I'm probably confused.  Now that I said it, it sounds like I should probably set JSMF to CB login.  Right ?

I read through the FAQ.  It seemed like "remember me" is expected to avoid the SMF logout problem.  Did I miss something ?

Thanks again,
Patrick

Set the login in JSMF config to whatever login you are using, in your case CB.  This pulls any login/logout parameters from the specified module's parameters.

As for the remember me, it should work no matter where you login from.  Double check this by clearing your cookies and logging in with remember me.  Then close your browser(all windows).  Set your computer's clock ahead 3 or 6 months.  Open your browser, are you still logged in?

Where can I find this session information? Have the same kind of problem. In Joomla! I am still logged in when I return and in SMF not. Even sometimes suddenly I am kicked out of my own SMF forum and not in Joolma! Has this to do with the session ( I think so ) and can I solve it with that guide?

I use Joomla 1.0.11 (SEF), SMF 1.1 RC3 and Bridge 2.0
I am not using Community Builder, don't see the point of it to use it as the forum has also profile pages...
