I installed the latest invite component. When I try to test it, it doesn't send any recommend emails to the recipients. After I click send, the same screen (form) come back. No indication that it sent any emails. Whats wrong.

I'm getting the same thing. Nothing sent, taken back to the form screen.

Not much to configure.... don't see anything that would prevent you from sending mail if it was configured wrong. You say how many recipients, default subject and message, and if you want a cc or not. Make a menu item point to the component, and Bob's yur uncle, no??

Evidently not, as Cowboy replied up above that he doesn't know how to help, since it is working for him.

If it doesn't work for you as it doesn't for me and a number of others, move along, nothing more to be done here.
There are at least 3-5 other solutions available, look at joomlaya.com and even mambo mod sites, theirs still work with the 1.0.11 joomla.... and of course the extensions area at the Joomla site.

Well, I'm just really busy with life... job and family that is. Just try to be more understanding if you don't get immediate support for "FREE" stuffs.
I am understanding. I installed, it didn't work, checked forums, other people had same issue, there was no solution offered, like I said, I moved on to something else.
Life should never get in the way of less important things, I hope the things you are busy with are pleasant and enjoyable, that is what counts.
Will payment help to get this working? I made a token donation to remove the link but the component does not work.

Why did you make a donation when it is not working for you??? When someone makes a donation, it means they're happy about the component. Donation is a free act. I just don't know anyone who made donation then asked a refund.

I thought mr joomlahacks would at least have this component working, bad experience with the smf bridges! So I went ahead and donated to remove the link. Next time test first, see you do st$p$d things when you got heaps on your plate.
My recommendation is to Download the component and read the fine print, to remove the link you need to $$$ donate. Well I am still waiting for some response, might get the goodies to remove the link for a dead beat component, or get refund and donate it to some other developer.
I am one of those people who do donate in the joomla community, imagine if every member donated a $1 each for the year for the various projects they use. So I stand on my principals and want some action on this issue. By the way I went ahead and bought a paid version from

Like I said, I don't have a lot of time to do support for a "FREE" component. And I hope you all understand this. I'm maybe avaiable on weekends to work for few hours on this.
I am having the problem where the screen refreshes, clears the recipient email and name fields aand all seems well - but nothing is sent.
In my messages file I get:

I am on PHP 4.3.9 on Joomla 1.0.11.

PS it would be nice to have a confirmation screen rather than rely on the absence of a little bit of data to indicate the request was processed because I think users will email me that nothing is happening.
