Error when trying to edit content

I have just installed Joomla and SMF which all went fine, the first thing I have now tried to do is edit the 'Welcome to Joomla' content on the main page.  The problem is when I click on this item to edit it the pages loads but with the following error listed in the status bar:

Char: 5
Code: 0
URL: <site url>.com/administrator/index2.php?option=com_content&section=0&task=edit&hidemainmenu=1&id=1


Any help on how to resolve this error would be great

Thanks for the reply but I haven't had any respose from the guys over there so I was wondering if anyone over here might have known
