I've mnade some progress - seems there were still other joomla tables with different character sets (swedish_general) so have changed them and don't get the firefox not loading problem - BUT
now its possible to initially log in and if using the joomla-smf login it takes you straight to the form (it shouldn't) and you appear to be logged in to smf. However you're not and as soon as you click any item you're logged out of Joomla & SMF
If using cb or joomla log in the user is logged in to the forum UNTIL they visit the form at which point they're logged out of all.
I'm using Joomla 1.0.11 SMF 1.1RC3 Its on the test site at breakfastsociety.com so feel free to poke about if its of any help to you.

Hi Joomla 1.0.11 SMF 1.1RC3 I have copied the joomla index.php patch and installed JSMF2.0. My problem is that my Joomla homepage now does not exist. www.abc.com/index.php now just displays the SMF homepage wraped into my Joomla homepage. Any Ideas? Andrew Hi Wolverine, Futher to my problem above. To fix this problem I did a fresh install of Joomla and SMF. I then installed the bridge and it worked perfectly. Then when I saw that you had made some changes to the original release I unistalled JSMF and then re-installed with the new com_SMF and used the new index.php file also included. This triggered my problem again, where my Joomla homepage disapears and is replaced by a wrapped forum. Do you have any ideas? Andrew

Them later on I installed your jsmf discussbot and by them I tried to configure the bot I got messages "resticted access". So I can not modify the the bot configuration just yet. Is there something that I should do?
Khairun. this looks like a bug that was found in admin.mambots.php short after Joomla 1.0.11 was released You can read about that here and download the patched admin.mambots.php: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,89865.0.htmlCheers, NiCo

The new bridge is awesome. You're a legend.
Is it possible for the JSMF login to remove the register link when registration is diabled from the Joomla Global config?
Cheers
Andrew
I put it down for JSMF 2.1

Found a bug in the bridge with the SMF AJAX in Joomla version 1.0.8, and probably lower versions as well. If you are running one of these versions and AJAX is not working just let me know and I'll send you the fix.
