I get this when trying to sync users..
Joomla/Mambo[0] / SMF[0] inserted Failed :

I also get the line 61 error sometimes as mentioned before.
And when I login, and then click on a forums link and then back to homepage, the login module shows I am logged out, but all aspects of the site show that I am still logged in, except in the forums.

I'm getting this too-any help available?

Also I can't get into the admin section of SMF unless I do it thru the direct access route (ie I can't do it thru the wrapped site)

I'm going to probably start a new thread with a beta 3 soon which will include all the fixes for the bugs found so far.  Sorry for the confusion.
Okay thanks  Smiley.

yes, modification is needed to get his plugin to work with this bridge and I am aware of it.  Mainly, if you notice this component is now com_jsmf and Brat uses com_smf.  This is high on the list of TO-DO's after the bridge is final.

Hi there, I wonder if you'd prefer us to continue adding to this thread or whether we should start another. I have found something that may be similar to what you're describing.

Problem
Fatal Error when selecting "Need another activation email?" from the Login screen

Steps to Re-Create Problem

1. Register as new User (My setup uses CB as the Registration module, invokable from SMF)

2. Before User verifies e-mail address, try to login from SMF -> Login. SMF will return a dialogue stating "Your email address needs to be validated before you can login" and presents a hyperling "Need another activation email?".

3. Select "Need another activation email?". The following Fatal Error occurs.

Code:
Fatal error: sendmail(): Failed opening required '/home/<user>/<site>/html/go/cms/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /home/<user>/<site>/html/go/smf/Sources/Subs-Post.php on line 523

[b](Actual path has been removed from above and replaced with <user> and <site> which are merely folder names)[/b]

[b]"cms" refers to the Joomla! installation directory (V1.0.11)[/b]

Deduction
After some quick checks, I can see that during JSMF2.0 Installation, the "/smf/Sources/Subs-Post.php" file is modified (~Lines 519-525). I have attached a Comparison Report showing the "Subs-Post.php" file before and after JSMF2.0 Installation.

The cause of the problem appears to be that "cms/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php" no longer exists as JSMF2.0 uses the Database for configuration parameters.

Hey,

Has anyone got the problem where SMF keeps logging you out after only a couple of minutes?

When I log in SMF displays a login time that is always a value much greater than I have actually been logged in. It seems that every time I login SMF tells me I have been logged in for 57mins. This could be my log out problem since SMF is configured to auto log out after 60min. Although even if I select the “forever” option it makes no difference.

I am getting the same behaviour as well, but mostly when i am in the SMf admin/config pages, rarely in the actual board/topics.
Let us know if something is discovered.

I actually don't think there is a failure.  Looking at this I am incorrectly detecting a failure and posting the error, which appears blank because there isn't any.  I am going to look into this tonight though.

Good investigating.... we no longer patch Subs-Post.php in JSMF 2.0.  So if it is patched replace the file with an original.  Additionally, the config is no longer in a file, it is now stored in the database and cached in memory.

Getting this when trying to send a lost password email, sorry if my problems were mentioned before.

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/snapshot/public_html/site/administrator/components/com_smf/admin.smf.class.php on line 1092

The email gets sent out but this error shows up.

Get this when trying to confirm a user, can't confirm via email either.

Fatal error: Unknown(): The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition jsmffrontend of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ the session was started in /home/snapshot/public_html/site/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_smfcbplugin/smf_cb.php on line 322

I seem to have taken care of issue #1 by clicking the radio button to make it go to Joomla home. I seem to remember having that off in the previous version, but this works.  Roll Eyes

#2 & 3> And here's what it looks like after the discussbot parses into SMF:

Code:
It’s worth thinking about…[br /]
[br /]
~ Misty-Eve*[br /]
[br /]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[br /]
[br /]
[br /]
[br /]
VISION:  SEEING THINGS THAT ARE YET TO APPEAR[br /]
[br /]
[br /]
[br /]
There is an ancient saying that a confused state is that state in which the idea has not yet begun to sing its song of identity.[br /]
[br /]
~ Joseph Rael, Ute [br /]
[br /]
[br /]
[br /]
Life shifts us into neutral sometimes. Our engines idle, and our eyes and hearts adjust to the slower RPMs. We hang suspended for a while - waiting. Though we don't know it, often we are waiting for a new vision to emerge - and we must be quiet enough, calm enough to sense its approach.[br /]
That's what I get when clicking on a comment link on the joomla content item and it takes me to the start a new topic in quote mode.... even tho I have that disabled in the bot.
Just to make it clear, those br tags are not being displayed in the message, they are being executed, meaning I have at least 2 linebreaks/returns/linespaces, sometimes 5 or 6 or more as you can see. I need to have them stripped out when parsing. The tag shows up when editing the message, so that can be removed, but the posts are long, and almost daily, and is a lot of work to edit manually each time.
Ok, send me one of your articles in word doc format so that I can test this.  Which wysiwyg editor are you using?
I found the workaround for my self as wolverine suggested to use phpMyAdmin and sneak out to table directly. As I mentioned before that I found the default path to the forum which jsmf component created during installation and  I just change the default menu module and move the the other menu module that Intended to. And the assigned templates are applied to all the forum and board just like what I want.
Thanks.
Seems like alot of work.  So the main problem was that you changed the link to another menu yet the bridge url would not update?  I'm just trying to explore how to rememdy this in future versions.
WOW! What an improvment!!! Last night I did a whole scale update to my site.
joomla 1.0.10 --> 1.0.11
CB 1.0 --> CB 1.0.1
SMF 1.1 RC2 --> SMF 1.1 RC3
JSMF 1.1.4.2 --> JSMF 2.0 Beta
With all the issues I was seeing from other posters I figured I would have some problems but actually so far I have no problems and everything seems to be working.
One thing I did notice was I use uddeIM PM system. I do notice that if you click on message link in the forum it does take me to my PM inbox page but in the forum where it says:
Hey, "user", you have 0 messages, 0 are new
it does not show whether I have anything in my inbox.  Maybe this part is not implemented yet so no big deal then but just wasn't sure.
Anyway, great job and I will be sending in a donation very soon.
Yes, that is not implemented yet, and it might not be somethign that is worth doing.  Probably best to disable that.  I have looked briefly if there is a way to do this for the login module, and if there turns out to be a way, I will def implement it for both the bridge and module.
very much so, I hope you like JSMF 2.0.  You were a pretty strong critic of the previous version which helped motivate the rewrite.  Wink
Hey,
Has anyone got the problem where SMF keeps logging you out after only a couple of minutes?
When I log in SMF displays a login time that is always a value much greater than I have actually been logged in. It seems that every time I login SMF tells me I have been logged in for 57mins. This could be my log out problem since SMF is configured to auto log out after 60min. Although even if I select the “forever” option it makes no difference.
Wolverine suggested
 “hmmm, logout and then clear your cookies especially the session cookies.  Try it again after that.  I'm going to double check the file I uploaded, I may have an error in it.  I hope not...”
However I have cleared cookies and used Norton cleansweep to try and clear away everything but still the same problem.
How can you clear session cookies? Is this different to clearing just the cookies?
Is there a way to disable the auto log out feature in SMF admin?
ADDITIONAL INFO:
I tried logging into SMF from a computer outside my network that is off the premises. It remembers the same value for the log in time as my PC at home does. Where is this value stored?
Could this be a problem with my development server or more likely a coding or settings issue?
Cheers
Andrew
I want you to try beta 3 once I release it.  Nothing directly fixed in regards to your situation, however the change in the patch on the index might affect this.  If it still does not work with beta 3 then lemme know and I'll log in to your site to get a better idea what is happening.
