Installing JSMF with cpanel installation of Joomla and SMF

Hi all, I have searched the forums and I think an answer to this topic will help a lot of users.

CAN one use the Joomla/SMF bridge with Joomla and SMF programs that have been installed via cpanel?

If so how do ou install Joomla and SMF via cpanel so that they are using the same database as is required?

I am having this problem and it appears to be the crux of many peoples problems, but no one has described how to address this issue.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

if cpanel installs in separate databases, no.

if cpanel installs SMF 1.0.X, no.

you need to install joomla, via cpanel if you like, but then SMF manually(which is easy) on the same database as the joomla install.  Or do it all manually.
