1.1.4.2 is more secure against that type of attack than 1.1.4. is.

Announce Topic doesn't work in SMF when running wrapped and SEO activated. With non wrapped and SEO off it works fine.

Extract the zip, inside you will find com_joomla_smf_forum_1_1_4_2.zip which is the installable zip file.

I've also tried this than it says:
Quote
Failed to create directory "/srv/www/htdocs/web117/html/components/com_smf/backup"
It creates the directory com_smf direcotry in components and it has the CH-Mod 777 but can't create the backup direcotry if i create it manualy it says
Quote
Another component is already using directory: "/srv/www/htdocs/web117/html/components/com_smf/"

This is simply a security release including two small bug fixes to 1.1.4.
<snip>
Installation instructions
  • Uninstall previous version of Joomla-SMF
  • Extract Joomla-SMF_1_1_4_1.zip
  • Log in to Joomla Adminsitrator
  • Select components from the Installers menu
  • Browse to the file com_joomla-smf_forum_1_1_4_1.zip
  • Click upload and install

You really meant 1.1.4.2, in the list above, right Wolverine?
sorry to be anal, but one version off can make a difference

Hi,

In the install instructions, there is a section "Upgrading from J!-SMF Forum Releases", which I'm assuming applies to my case (upgrading from 1.1.02).  It says:

Quote
   1. Uninstall the previous version of Mambo-SMF Forum, recent topics modules, and optional login module.
   2. Uninstall the SMF Mod from SMF Package Manager.
   3. Install the new Joomla-SMF Forum.

Regarding the "SMF Mod" - is this referring to the SMF 1.1RC2-1 security patch ?  Does it need to be re-installed after installing JSMF 1.1.4.2?

Thanks,
Patrick

Should be fixed in the upcoming JSMF 2.0.

If I recall correctly, the SMF Mod (for SMF) was only required for very old versions of Mambo-SMF. So you can safely ignore #2 for now. Someone please correct me if I am wrong!
