This happens when i set redirect to joomla on login, redirecting to smf works, but not what i need. also, same thing happens on logout, but if redirect to smf, it works again. Once more, not what i want.
I have sef advanced installed, but does the same thing if it's turned off.
I think the problem is that for some reason on yours, and others, php config it doesnt' allow the refresh from SMF. What is the strangest is that I specifically search for that URL and prevent it from ever being shown(or at least I am trying to do that). I'm still looking at it for JSMF 1.2 which is what I am working on now. I am thinking of going a whole different route with that functionality with J! 1.5 and I may be able to get some workaround in the meantime.
The frustrating thig is that my 'old' setup does work fine, but I did have significant problems until Patch4 came along (<Patch4 had similar issues if I remember correctly).
No matter what I put in the login or logout redirect, it always goes to the same place. On LOGOUT (not login like I want it) it redirects to SMF, but on login (not logout like I want it) it redirects to the index.php. Even if I put http://www.yahoo.com or any other URL it still goes to the same place.
It appears to do NOTHING on my page, which is all the newest releases of Joomla SMF and the bridge.
djsilent, have you added redirects in the joomla-smf login or cb login? If so, in the bridge configuration have you selected the correct login module in the configuration?
Well, it's kinda strange. No matter what I clicked, the CB login never logged me into SMF, so I decided to use the JSMF login. This solved that problem, except that in SMF whenever someone clicked Login or Register they would go to the SMF login and register, so I manually changed the links.
I got this problem temporarily fixed by setting the "Always redirect to forum on login:" and "Always redirect to joomla main on logout:" options to yes.
But I also noticed other functions that don't work for me. The "Redirect SMF profile link to CB/CBE:" option seems to do nothing, and what does the CB patch do? Is there a way to choose the SMF private message system in CB? there are a few other choices, none of which I use, but even ater the patch in CB there is no option for SMF.
Also, I have "Synchronization Type:" set to usernames, but everyones Real names are showing up on the forum.
This might be an SMF problem, but when replying to a private message, the name is not filled out. And when I begin typing, a lot of the time it erases what I put and enters "<?xml version="1.0"?><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">" in the name field. I thought the system was working right the last 2 days since I installed it, but now that other users are beginning to sign up I'm finding a lot of weird bugs with this bridge.

Another thing that I'm not sure if it's an SMF thing or not, so someone might be able to help here. When I try to save anything in the "Features and Options" section of the SMF admin, I get the following error: "An Error Has Occurred! Unable to load the 'main' template."
Everything else in the Admin section seems to work, but not the main configs (which sucks cause I'm stuck with the default and there quite a few things I'd like to change). Any input on what this means?
first thing, you must install the joomla-smf cb plugin for the cb login to work correctly.
second, if you have problems changing the theme simply access SMF directly and change it.
Third, if you synchronized Real Names initially you would see those real names. The optional setting is for all new usernames.
The redirect CB to SMF profiles does work, you should be able to click on any user in SMF and it will take you to their CB profile.
No idea about your messaging system. The only one supported currently is the default SMF messaging. Addition of PMS(jim) and UddieIM are currently in development.

It wasn't that I had problems changing the theme, it was that I was forced to edit the theme because the login and register buttons were not linking to the CB login and register buttons, but instead the SMF ones after I had selected CB as the default login and register.

Well, not sure what to say, because if I click on a user name, or any profile button I see, it takes me to the SMF profile not their CB profile.

I am referring to the default SMF messaging system. How do I get it to show up in the list of available messaging systems in CB login module? I am not using it right now partly because the JSMF login module DOES show the SMF messages correctly and SMF does not show up on the list of available PM systems in the CB module. Is there a second patch I need to install?
Thanks for all the help, I have most of it working perfectly, but these last few things will make it a much more integrated system for me.
if it isn't redirecting the CB profile then something is wrong. As well as if the login and register buttons weren't correct then something with the configuration is definitely wrong.
At this point there is no plans for development of the addition of SMF messaging to the CB login. So no, no other plugin.

Any ideas on how to find out what is wrong? When I patch the SMF files it tells me success. I had no errors during installation, and just uninstalled and reinstalled the com and it's all the same.
