I've either done something wrong or am really confused. Any help appreciated.
My installations: Joomla 1.0.9 Community Builder 1.0 Simpleboard Forum CB Plugin SMF 1.1.RC2 Joomla-SMF 1.1.3
When I register as a new user from either Joomla or SMF I use the CB registration form. I have been assuming that any newly created account would:
1. Be valid in both Joomla and SMF 2. An account logged in from either Joomla or SMF would be logged in for both apps.
No matter how I do it, if I log in from the Joomla side, when I go to the SMF Forum, I am welcomed as Guest rather than the user.
Any help in correcting my install or my understanding would be greatly appreciated.
K
Doh!!
I did not have the correct authorization plugin for Community Builder. For some reason I thought the SimpleBoard plugin was correct but it wasn't. Once I installed the Joomla-SMF Authorization plugin for CB all works fine.

This time worked like a charm! I spent all my day in trying to understand why the discussbot does not work with the new version. With this download you posted now, it worked out of the box, and in OpenSEF environment at that!
the post right after the one you quoted tells you the answer. Make sure you use the component uninstall to uninstall JSMF. Then you can install the new version.
Ok I tried to install Joomla-SMF 1.1.3 today. I unpatched and uninstalled 1.1.2 component the way you are supposed to. I then Installed 1.1.3 with no problems but when it came to setting the absolute path for SMF it failed to find it and kept saying incorrect path. I know for a fact it was right and if I uninstalled and revert back to 1.1.2 it works fine. Not sure what to do here.
my SMF absolute path is ----> /var/www/html/forums
When i put this in and hit save it says inccorect path and tries to revert it back to /var/www/html/cms/forum
My Installation: Joomla 1.0.9 Community Builder 1.0 Stable SMF 1.1.RC2 CB login in module
hmmm, there was a change to that bit of code but no previously reported problems. I'll take a look...
Yeah I noticed that. I read through all the posts so I keep trying to see if I did something wrong but so far I can't tell that I have. HEHE oh well I will check back later to see if you found anything. Thanks for all the work you do on this bridge!!!

edit: extract this file to administrator/components/com_smf/ and tell me if it solves the problem.
I have the same problem as Jeremy. I had downloaded and replaced the admin.smf.php. Still said the SMF absolute path is incorrect (but the value no longer change back to default) and cannot Patch SMF Source Files
J! ver = 1.0.8 (Traditional Chinese UTF-8) JSMF ver = 1.1.3
