There are outstanding language file needs... there is new text in this version that needs to be translated. I previously posted a thread with the details here
Updated June 13th@11amEST to fix a problem with the dutch language file.

I'm having problems on login and logout, because they always redirect to SMF on login or logout. I tried change setting "Always redirect to forum on login" and "Always redirect to joomla main on logout" but whithout success.
I'm using de J! 1.0.9 original login module and i set "Login module to use" to J!/Mambo.
Aloha -I just successfully upgraded from J!1.0.8 to J!1.0.9 and installed JSMF 1.1.3 and when I click "patch J! Source file" - I get no success message, in fact there is no message at all other than saying 'click to patch'.
Also the file is writeable as I've upgrade JSMF before w/ no issues.
My log-in, recent topics, and show users on-line is not correct either - probably due to source file not being patched.
Currently I have: J!1.0.9 JSMF 1.1.3 SMF 1.1 RC2 + security patch 1 JSMF Login 1.4.1 JSMF Recent topics 1.7.1
To comment further, after I upgraded to J!1.0.9 I unpatched and then removed the SMF Bridge component, then installed the latest version and went to the config settings to set things up
Mahalos!

Thanks for the new release! Tested it on one site so far, successfully! Here are my humble suggestions:
1. Dutch and Japanese language files have charset UTF-8 but are saved as Default. This might cause problems. 2. bulgarian.php is not added to the xml file, so will not install
For those of us who have sites on UTF-8 (all my J!1.0.9 installations are on UTF-8), here is the UTF-8 version of the bridge:
All language files have now the UTF-8 charset and are saved as UTF-8 along with all other files.
the post right after the one you quoted tells you the answer. Make sure you use the component uninstall to uninstall JSMF. Then you can install the new version.
