Error fetching Recent Topics: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ') LEFT JOIN smf_log_mark_read AS lmr ON (lmr.ID_BOARD = b.ID_BOARD ' at line 8

How solve a problem?

You are not properly patched or are using wrong version of bridge.

do you put the prefix of your SMF table correctly? usually its "smf_"

I have this error to. After i updated to joomla 1.0.10. With joomla 1.0.8 was everything ok..

I have this error too, when viewing pages other than the forum. Also just upgraded to 1.1.10.

This usually occurs when the JSMF bridge is not installed or the Joomla index.php hasn't been correctly patched.

hi folks,
i have this prob too, when i try to patch joomla files it says :
Failed: /home/www/nodalcomposing.com/index.php file or the parent path is not writeable!

and in the component permission menu it says:

PERMISSION SETTINGS:
Configuration file    (/home/www/nodalcomposing.com/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php)    is writeable
Joomla cache directory    (/home/www/nodalcomposing.com/cache)    is writeable
Joomla index file    (/home/www/nodalcomposing.com/index.php)    is writeable
Joomla main path    (/home/www/nodalcomposing.com)    is writeable

and also my module "recent post" gives the same error as other ppl.
How can i make this patch working?

Joomla 1.0.10? If so update to Joomla-SMF(JSMF) 1.1.4.2 which includes a patched index.php. Then there is no need to patch, simply follow the procedures in _README_FIRST.txt

Also when i sign in joomla, i still have to sign in again in the forum,it s like it didn t sync users table even the script said it was sync.
If i put the smf login module instead of the joomla one, it don t recognize the account created under joomla,so i guess, the sync is not working.
When i login with the standart joomla module, i get this error now:

joomla_smf_1_1_4_2 with smf 1_0_8
not the good one?

I got this exact error just now after upgrading from Joomla 1.0.10 to 1.0.11

I guess it makes sense, since a new Joomla index.php is included in 1.0.11

So I went to Joomla Administrator, to the Joomla-SMF Component Config, and right away i pressed "Save" and that ruined my config.smf.php. The symptoms were:

- I got browser error Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';' in /home/sentirta/public_html/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php on line 6

- I checked the file and a lot of the settings are empty, i.e: $smf_redirect = ;

Thank god i had a backup of everything, and that i am not yet fully online :-)

But the error with the Recent Topics module is still there. Any hints on what should i do?

BTW i have JoomlaHacks 1.1.4.2 bridge and SMF 1.1 RC2 and Recent Topics Module 1.7.1
