Blank Page on Login
« on: March 10, 2006, 11:37:47 AM »

Hello,

Using:

SMF 1.1 RC2
Bridge Joomla-SMF_1[1].1RC2_including_patch1
Joomla 1.8.0
Module mod_joomla_smf_login_1_4

Everything went fine on both install of the forum (which is in same dbase as joomla) and bridge (everything patched fine and synced fine - everything is green!)

Create a new account via the Joomla-SMF Module, works fine...Activates fine...Login, seems to login and then a Blank white page appears, no content or anything just a white page.  The URL that is loaded is:

http://www.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_smf&action=login2&hash_passwrd=
0&user=USERNAME&passwrd=PASSWORD&cookielength=15

The forum works fine from the frontend, and I can see that the account that I made has been entered into the forum (appears as "newly registered" at the bottom) however, it uses the person "name" as the forum username rather than the Joomla "username".  Not sure if thats right?

Would appreciate some help with this.

Thanks,

T.

EDIT:  Also, I have unpatched all the files via the bridge and repatched, no change.  The user can also sign in directly to the forum with no problems.

at this point yes.  I hope to add the ability to select which is displayed in version 1.2

Would appreciate some help with this.

Thanks,

T.

So this only occurs when using the mod_smf_login module?  It may be that the refresh mechanism that SMF uses, and subsequently we use, if not refreshing the page during the login.  Lemme take a look to see if I can determine what is wrong.  Can you try to login using the default joomla login module and see if you get the same response?

Thanks for the reply Wolverine.

I republished Joomla's default login module, and attempted to login - Sadly, its exactly the same problem.

I created a new user via this module also, logs in and the name appears on the "Newly Registered" part of the forum also.  So its exactly the same issue, just that dang blank page.

Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem.

Clean install of joomla 1.08. Then clean install of smf 1.1 rc2. Then installed bridge. Green lights all the way...

I configured for auto-redirection to forum on login. I get directed to completely blank page instead. Interestingly, redirection seems to have stopped working after a few times on its own.

Directly typing in URL of smf forum shows working forum.

try the patch 4 version in the Joomla-SMF thread Tom.  There was a problem with the redirect you posted which could cause this failure.
