newsflashes

can anyone please help me to get rid of newsflashes on certain pages or subjects.I have a bowling site i am trying to get going with a friend but i dont want to see news flashes in certain subjects.

see modules-site module-newsflash
and opt out all the menu items linked except the one you want to keep
