problem switching templates
« on: April 13, 2005, 06:23:14 PM »

Hi,

I'm still having problem with the templates after I installed the SMF bridge.
As long as I use the same template that I let SMF integration component patch during the installation everything works fine. But as soon as I try to switch to another template in the mambo template manager, all content pages are blank when clicking on any of the menu link, all the pages but the forum that is, it still works.
I also noticed that in the SMF component it still says "mambo template file old template is writeable", with old template being the one that was patched.
Does that mean that I can't switch templates any more?

Thank you for your help.

Stefan

UPDATE: I've copied the smf code from the originally modified template into the index.php of some other templates and it seems to work.
One question remains: is it necessary to do that manually with every template or am I missing something?

No, you don't have to do it manually.

Just click the "apply" link at the bottom of your admin page. That will patch the code to your current mambo template.

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

Sorry for having to ask again but which apply link on which page are you referring to?

Thanks.

It's on the component configuration below the "Installation Checklist".

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately no button here. Could this be because I'm using a Windows server? I think I read about some issue regarding running the component with Windows, but I'm not sure what it was about any more.

I'm also getting an error when loading this page:
Line 228
'this.tab' is null or not an object

Any way, this is what the bottom half of my configuration dialogue looks like (there is no button between INSTALLATION CHECKLIST and the Revised and improved by... statement):

INSTALLATION CHECKLIST:
installed Install SMF Forum on the same database as Mambo.
installed Install mod_smf_login module and publish it.
installed Install SMFMamboMod.zip using your SMF Package Manager.
done Insert code to mambo template.

NOTE: It's very important that you mark the checkbox above if you are using an existing SMF with user data!
Based on the original SMF-Bridge.
Revised and improved version by: MamboHacks.com.
