Why Not Joomla Homepage?
« on: March 02, 2006, 04:31:48 PM »

My site at my hosted ISP is currently based on:

* Joomla 1.0.8
* SMF 1.1 RC2
* Wolverine's latest excellent version of Cowboy's excellent Joomla-SMF bridge

My site has its own homepage.  That page contains links to other areas.  The SMF forum is wrapped under Joomla.  When accessed via a link on the joomla site homepage the the forum has some elements from the joomla site in the first (left) column.  This is as it should be.

My problem is that every time I log out from anywhere on the site I am transported back to the first page of the wrapped forum.  THis happens even if I open up my site fresh.  Even if I turn my PC off, run around for days, turn the PC back on, and enter what is supposed to be the first page of my site.  I am always taken to the wrapped forum page.  And yes, I have cleared all my caches in all my browsers.  Numerous times.

I don't like or want this behavior.  I want my site to open on its main joomla-based page.  Even typing http://www.sitename.net/joomlasite/index.php takes me to the wrapped forum page.  I don't want that.  The forum is an important element of my site, but not its most important feature.  Does anyone have any idea why my site might be behaving this way and how I might correct it?

1.1RC2 gives you the option to direct a user back to the joomla homepage always.   Wink  It's coming...

Even typing http://www.sitename.net/joomlasite/index.php takes me to the wrapped forum page.
I'm more intrigued by this...this isnt normal behavior..

and if you check your configuration, did you set "Always redirect to forum on login" to "yes"?

or worse..did you copy the smf files into www.sitename.net/joomlasite or www.sitename.net/smf instead of www.sitename.net/joomlasite/smf..?
