This is a problem for sites which uses smf's profiling. When a user changes his name to one that has already been used, SMF gives an error "The selected username has already been taken.", BUT jos_users gets updated just the same, thus the user now has 2 different names - the new one in joomla and the old one in smf, and now jos_users have 2 users with the same name.
