Integration wiht Joomla - Login start a new window :(

Hallo,
sorry for my bad english like a silly chicken Wink

I worked with Joomal and now with the great SMF-Board Smiley
But now I've two ask:

1.) If i logged in to SMF than started a new Window. But if i loged in I don't want a new window with SMF. I want to stay by joomal window!!
How can I avoid this?

2.) I have imported my phpbb Forum with phpbb2_to_smf.php but now all my german umlauts are "?"
What can I do by importing my old phpbb Forum that the umlauts are being ä,ö,ü

I use
Joomla 1.08
smf_1-0-6
com_joomla_smf_forum_1.1
