Couple Newbie Questions

Hello there to the Joomla community.

I have a very simple family site that I currently run with vbulletin, along with the vbadvance portal addon. I'm thinking of moving away from that to possibly a vbulletin and joomla combo using the jvb plugin from bbpixel, and have a few questions I like to try and learn the answers to. I'll try and be as brief as possible.

1. Will the existing vbulletin hacks out there work with a joomla integration?
2. Is there any type of cook book or recipe module for jooma? Where users can post and share recipes?
3. What would be the best gallery to implement? Photopost?
4. What about an arcade and adding music radio stations? I know those hacks exist for vb.
5. Whats the best way to include the vb forums in joomla? Via the wrapper module? Or another way?
6. Some other components and modules I would really like to include are.

a) shoutblock on home page
b) a count down timer to a specific date / time.
c) possibly a mini arcade (again vb also has this hack)
d) a weather module to display the users local weather.
e) last x posted on home page (I think I already found that here)

I think thats most of the questions I curently have. Of course, I'll be looking for a nice simple, colorful, family based theme that possible includes a matching vb theme to include as well.
