Hello all,

I've installed Joomal 1.0.7 (sunburst) and the SMF forum (1.1rc2) together with the joomla-smf component 1.1RC1.

Everything works very fine, great component !!

Unfortunately i've been having troubles the first time i'am opening the website (www.schoolbende.nl\kink). Every first time i have the following error (IE6) :
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

Only one top level element is allowed in an XML document. Error processing resource 'http://www.schoolbende.nl/kink/'. Line 2, Position 2

<b>Warning</b>:  ob_start(): output handler 'ob_gzhandler' cannot be used after 'URL-Rewriter' in <b>/home/schoolbe/public_html/kink/includes/joomla.php</b> on line <b>3254</b><br />

I haven been looking on internet and these forums for some days now and i see that other people have the same problems but without the answers  Sad Sad

I followed the installation guide and SMF is in the same database as Joomla. To give some more information i've attached some pictures of the configuration.

I truly hope that somebody can help me!

Why SMF 1.1RC1?  I suggest upgrading to SMF 1.1RC2.

hmmmmmm, are you using a custom theme?  This is Joomla that is failing, or rather, something failing causing joomla to fail.

thanks for your reply !

I changed the template to the delivered one : rhuk_solarflare_ii but i still have the same problems.
furthermore, i've just unpatched the bridge and i had no problems reaching the site. It must have something todo with the patch i suppose....

Sorry, I meant an SMF theme?  Are you using the default SMF theme or a custom one?

this is an error when you did not install joomla in your root (ie top level domain). do a search on something like "install joomla in subdirectory" and you might get your answer.

i don't get it. Joomla without the bridge works just fine. And with the bridge it also works after one refresh of the browser.
I can't see why that has something to do with joomla not installed in the root directory. Can you explain this further?

After a lot of trying i finally found the solution.

Turning of the Gzip compression in the setup of Joomla was the trick  Grin !!

I was so desperate  Cry that i even installed the joomla simbleboard forum. But SMF-forum is much better and i'am happy i have it running now.

So it looks like it that there may be a conflict with the compression and the bridge?
