@wolverine

no matter what i choose in the configuration...the login redirects to the forum. i choose wrapped and 'always redirect to forum on login' no but the login still redirect to forum.
I have changed to logic to redirect you back to the page where you logged in unless you were
a. on a login/logout page.
b. you selected redirect to forums.

So if you are logging in via SMF it will always take you back to the SMF page wehre you logged in from.  The logic is consistent with what you should see.  Login from this page takes you back to the same page unless explicitly selected to redirect elsewhere.

i also tryed to change the redirect url in the login module itself...but still the same
not sure what you are talking about becuase the redirect is based on your forum url.  Changing anything in config.smf.php manually is never a good idea.

EDIT:

another bug like kirck descripted. after an automatic logout(? dont know why...i choose login forever option) i get the login incomplete message
There are still session length issues between Joomla and SMF.  I can control some of it but not all, so there are still instances where login forever will not work.  I am trying to address them but not a high priority at this point.

Thanks for the feedback!

If I refresh then I can enter as guest.
99% sure I know what happened to cause this.  I am testing the fix tonight.

no idea man  Huh  I tested the quote over and over last night and couldn't find this happening at all.  So you say when you mouse over a quote link you see the first URL.  But after clicking it you see the second URL?  And you have SMF 1.1RC2 default template installed?

I'll keep looking but at this point I'm stumped.  Any chance you would pm your website link so I can take a look first hand and get a better idea of the problem?

That is the problem...the bug. my setting:

Integration Mode: Wrapped

Registration module to use: Mambo

So i start on the joomla frontpage...login via joomla login form and the login redirect to smf forum...i dont know why

no. i tryed to change the login redirection url in the joomla 'login form' module.

'Login Redirection URL'
http://www.myurl.org/index.php/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/
but the login still redirect to smf forum...no matter where i started

Here is beta2 ...

Fixes included in beta2:
...
1.1-10. Fixed login from SMF fails
...
Those of you that reported bugs for beta1, those should be resolved, thanks!

If you currently have Joomla-SMF installed please follow these steps ...

Thanks Wolverine. I just tried it on my installation and it appears to be working just fine. I have a couple other sites I need to test this out on, but so far, so good!

Thanks again!

So you are saying any and all logins go to the SMF boards, even if you are logging in from joomla login module?

No, I'm not saying that.

Only failed logins go to the SMF forum - for example, leave user name and password blank. This happens on any page. I am not using SMF logins, so only the Joomla module logins are relevant here. No login failure message appears.

I detailed the problem in another thread.
