absolute path problem
« on: February 18, 2006, 11:27:49 PM »

step by step it seems i've done everything right so far.  i've searched the forum too and the solutions i see worked for others but for some reason not for me..i'm quite the newbie by the way...joomla's all new to me.

the forum is on the same database...
http://www.fuzion-entertainment.com/main/forum/
   works just fine

everything i could think of has a chmod of 777(reading that some files needed to be set to that)

so i don't know what i'm doing wrong..the only difference i see from others and is that the forum is not at the public_html/ folder..i'm not familiar with phpBB2 either so i'm not too sure if i move the whole folder will it mess up the site?

SMF Absolute Path:/home/hfuzio28/public_html/main/forum
   (incorrect path)

 SMF Database Prefix: smf_

installed     Install SMF Forum on the same database as Joomla.
click to patch    Patch Joomla Source Files. tooltip
click to patch    Patch SMF Source Files (Note: Unpatch before upgrading SMF or installing mod.) tooltip
done [verify]    Synchronize Joomla and SMF users (optional).

Maybe try dropping the forward slash before home.

In the folder where you have the SMF installed, create this little php file
(lets call it mypath.php Cheesy)

Code:
<?php
echo getcwd();
?>

execute it with your browser:

www.mysite.com/smf/mypath.php

it will then display the true (server based) path to the directory where that PHP file is.
