It is here. After tons of work and testing the past couple days I am ready to release Joomla-SMF 1.1RC1. In addition, I am releasing version 1.0 of Joomla-SMF auth plugin for CB.
Resolved issues: CB login module works with plugin Login Incorrect issue resolved More redirect fixes
Enhancements: Fully reworked back end with installation instructions
Known Issues: SMF registration does not sync to Joomla until Joomla login. CB registration does not sync to Joomla or SMF until Joomla login. Login and Logout redirects from SMF are not SEF.
The plugin is the next thing I will be working on. Currently you can login and logout using CB login module 1.0 RC2 when the plugin is installed. However, if you register using CB registration and do not login via a Joomla module you will receive an unknown or incorrect username error message. This is obviously a serious issue since most will not have a Joomla Login module in use. We will be tracking the CB plugin seperate from the main bridge so I will release a new version hopefully early this week.
In addition, anyone who previously translated the language files are in need. There is new language added to support the new information on the backend. Please let me know if you can translate the english file into other languages for future Joomla-SMF releases.
And finally, I expect a few problems, if there are major issues I will work towards a RC2 or better a full 1.1 depending on the problems. If there aren't I will be moving on to start development on any Joomla 1.1 fixes and enhancements and JSMF 1.1RC1 will be the last release(excluding plugin update).
I want to thank everyone for you patience and support of this project. I hope this version solves alot of problems for everyone. Again, please report issues here and I will take a look at them on a case by case basis.

Thanks for all the hard work but so far this has made no diferance for me. When I log into Joomla with the CB login I am logged into Joomla but must still login to SMF a second time.
Thank you very much Wolverine. With beta2 i had problems with session time, and now its correct. I continue testing I've a question? How must use the new plugin? people that use cb login module?

I will put a README together as well. But the short answer is go into plugin management of CB and install the plugin. Then simply publish it in the plugin management section of CB. That should do the trick.
Rick, I've gotta get you a debug file, something is not right.
Thanks, not sure what is up. I have many components as well as other CB plugins that work just fine. Seems SMF is where I have the most trouble and that is the most important part of my site. It seems I am always the odd man out with these problems/solutions. I will wait fro your debug thing, if there is anything I can do to make this easier please let me know. You can have full access to my site if needed.
Thanks, Wolverine - the component and the CB plugin works fine. But - if I use the opensef component, and I click on "profile" in the forum (and I have it set to use the CB profile) - I end up with "The page you're looking for can't be located..."
hmmm, thats something I didn't test because I just realized the bridge did that in the past. Let me test it tomorrow, there may be a bug there that I wasn't aware of.
Let me see if I can explain... My forum is set to registered users (menu link registered actually right now for testing special) only. With the CB plugin install when I logon I get redirected to a screen that say I am not authorized. The address is for com_smf with my user and password displayed in clear type???. My guess is that the code to login forum is getting executed before the cb/joomla login is complete. I am wondering if this was blocking everyone today not just those with forum access, I suspect so.
If I disable plugin it logs me into CB fine and I have to login to the forum a second time.

I'm having another problem with the CB plugin and component: I keep timing out and getting logged out of the forum, even though I stay logged in on the joomla side.
Is this (still) a known bug? or do I have something set wrong?

That is more or less a known bug. We are mimicing the way SMF sets the cookies but it just doesn't seem to take. That is also on my list of things to look into. I will hopefully have some more answers by this weekend. You might try setting the default cookie length higher in the SMF admin, although I am unsure if that will completely resolve your problem.
