I have identified and fixed all of the bugs reported so far except login from SMF. I have tested this and it is not related to CB. I believe that in SMF RC2 some of the login/logout methods have changed. I think I will have Joomla-SMF 1.1RC1 ready for this weekend if all goes well. Thanks everyone for your patience.
On a side note, I have also started investigating Joomla 1.1. There are tons of new developer feeatures being included which should improve the bridge greatly. However, it most likely means, at least in my opinion, that Mambo support will be dropped. Maybe Cowboy will continue the work there, but I plan on continuing with Joomla.
Thanks again to everyone helping answer and resolve problems. I hope to have a usable bridge for you all soon.
One last side note/topic. I am curious, I know why I use this bridge but I also see many of you saying you prefer this bridge over others. What is it that you like the most?
Why I use this bridge... I found and installed this one first and later on, when SMF 1.1RC2 was released, I came across the bridge from Orstio. With this bridge I was having some problems with the "total time online" and "unread messages since last visit" so I decided to try Orstio's bridge...but somehow it didn't feel right... I didn't like it being so "visible" on the frontpage and for some reason the synchronisation of the new users didn't go as it should.
Anyway...I felt more comfortable with your bridge and decided to stick with it and do whatever I can to support this on on the forums.
Mind you...this doesn't mean that this bridge is flawless..there are still things that need improvement but I'm positive we'll get there..
p.s. I hope you stick with Joomla otherwise I would have to be on the lookout for a different bridge

Because it is simple. No need to edit the Joomla code. I like the sync option, too. And I can use back the Joomla's login.
Do you think that 1.1 will include CB RC2 Login support?
I second that!!! That's the only way I can use this bridge is if its going to work well with CB. That is why I have liked this brdge in the past because the other one does not work with CB and probably never will.
I have been working on CB integration, but I didn't do the original integration so it has been slow going. I don't know if I can get it in 1.1 but I will try.

No problem! I am glad your working on this. I have a large scale church website I am helping develop that will go live at the end of April so I was just hoping that something was working in regards to integrations with CB by then. But the whole community appreciates what your doing. It sounds like in the near future all 3PD's lives will be made easier with Joomla 1.1.
good news! I have addressed a wide range of session issues. I'd like to release a beta2 tonight for all you CB users. I am hoping the general session issues will resolve the CB issues as well. If not, I will continue to look into the CB issue in an attempt to resolve it for 1.1 release.
All those interested in beta2 look for it this evening. Sometimes I actually think I'm smart. heh!
That is great news, the timing could not be better for me. I just got back from a week long trip to Cancun Mexico, I was not looking forward to coming home and addressing all of the issues related to the intigration on my site. You can imagine my pleasure and releif to find this post as it was one of the first things that I came accross when I got home. Thanks for all your hard work to make our lives better.

cb login still doesn't work, but I have identified the problem and a CB plugin should resolve the issue. I started on the plugin today, hopefully I will have something working by the weekend. I know you are a CB user as well! Hope you had a good vacation!
