Rick, Pete, are you guys using wrapped or unwrapped? SEF or not? Thanks.
Wolverine, I am running with Joomla 1.07, SMF 1.1 RC2, CB 1.0 RC2
I have tried with all three login modules, joomla, Joomla-smf, and CB-RC2. I have tried wrapped (preferred) and unwrapped and I have never used SEF. Once again I want to thank you for all that you and Cowboy are doing for the community.
Does it matter if Joomla is in a directory called joomla? In other words to get to my Joomla site it is www.mysite.com/joomla The reason I ask is this still does not work. If I login to SMF I am logged into both but If I log into Joomla it does not login to SMF.
Joomla 1.05 SMF 1.1 RC2
I am at a loss on this guys. I have tested until my eyes turn blue and I can't figure out why this doesn't work for you all. I am going to make this debugging I have enabled a bit more official and then send it to you Rick. Then we can try to narrow down any differences. But I am pointing the finger at CB. I am going to also look at what install tasks it does, maybe it is circumventing our login process.
Does this beta thing include a fix for the AJAX problem I posted a resolution for?
Thanks! -Kevin
Not at this point Kevin. The main purpose of 1.1 is compatiblity with the updated versions of SMF and Joomla. But development is ongoing so we will try to address it in a future release.
Sorry for the eye problems It may very well be CB. I started fresh on a spare domain that I have and installed Joomla 1.07, SMF 1.1 RC2 and CB since that is the configuration that I use on my live site and it did not work either. I will go back in tomarrow if I get time and wipe out everything including the databases and just do Joomla and SMF. If that works then we will know that it is something to do with CB. If I don't get to this tomorrow it will not be to next week as I am off to Cancun Mexico for a week after that.
Hi, thanks for all the work on the component first of all. I installed the beta on my server and the login also does not work when attempting to log in on smf instead of joomla. As long as I log in from the Joomla module it is fine. I am not running community builder at all, so I am not sure if the problem is at all CB related.
Switching from the CB Login to the regular login did it for me. SMF works but, I need to use the CB Registration for some extra fields at registration plus moderator approval.
Using the CB Registration with the regular Login and the bridge comes up with redeclare errors (db_query comes to mind). So that doesn't work.
I have been familiarizing myself with CB this week and intend to try and bring compatibility with CBRC2 into the bridge. I want to resolve bugs first though, so once I get them complete I will put my efforts into compatability for CBRC2.
Hey my site is smf-joomla rc2 wrapped /// i dont use CB at all on my site... users could login to the forum fine from the smf-jommla login block installed on the front page..but once a user click on a recent topic thread and try to login from the 'original forum login' it says 'username or password does not exist'... i have successfuly synced smf users to joomla from the bridge... hmm
anyone have any idea what went wrong?

i have got a little suggestion with a feature you could implement if you add support for CB. when a user clicks "edit profile" he should be redirected to his cb profile.
A little update, I was able to fix the quick reply quote issue that was reported. And I tested the time logged in fix by Ice Man. I did alot of research into the sessions of Joomla and SMF. Unfortunately, I am still new to the bridge and the logging in for each of these pieces of software is anything but straightforward. I am continuing to look into it this week and hopefully I can at least resolve the issue of SMF not being logged in.
Thanks to everyone here for your help testing and responding to others questions, it is very much appreciate! <3
