Does it matter if Joomla is in a directory called joomla? In other words to get to my Joomla site it is www.mysite.com/joomla The reason I ask is this still does not work. If I login to SMF I am logged into both but If I log into Joomla it does not login to SMF.
the directory should not matter if the patch of the joomla index was successful. If this occurs on your dev site as well I can work up a debug version and we can gather more information to determine the problem.
Let me try upgrading to Joomla 1.07 and see if that helps. If not I will try some further testing on a dev site. Right now I am doing everything live because I broke my live site a month or 2 ago anyway when I upgraded to SMF 1.1 RC2. That was the biggest mistake I have ever done and I have regretted it ever since. By the way I have tried both the joomla-SMF login and the standard login and the CB login, all with the same results. And yes the patches worked fine, the only reason I asked about directories was in the help file it specified that Joomla should be in the root.
Nope. Upgraded to 1.07, repatched and it still will not login to SMF from any of the 3 Joomla login modules. I will ste up a test site on one of my unused domains and try some things over there. If you come up with any ideas let me know.
When I login on Joomla! I am not logged in on SMF, it does not matter if it is wrapped or unwrapped. If I try to login from the wrapped forum login, I get the error username or password incorrect. But if I first login to Joomla! and then separately login in to SMF, it works. But this is not a really integration. The forum separately loaded, works fine.
New registerd users are not automatically synced, but manually syncing with the Joomla-SMF component works.
I have this problem since upgrading SMF from 1.1 RC1 to RC2.
I am using following versions without SEF:
Joomla! 1.0.7 Community Builder 1.0 RC2 (login module) the version from JoomlaJoe and Beat on www.joomlapolis.com SMF 1.1 RC2 Joomla-SMF 1.1beta
Oh, just now I read that there is no CB compatibility.

Ok, I am looking into this. Note, that currently the bridge doesn't support new users being able to login first from SMF. I just found this out so sorry for not posting sooner. When a new user logs in for the first time a sync is attempted. From SMF it doesn't work at this point. I am looking very closely at all this and searching for the best solution for logging in from either app.
