Is this the correct file to install joomla and smf Huh
 Joomla-SMF Forum 1.0.2

I have a web site ( www.joomlaturk.com ) with joomla 1.03 and SMF 1.1 RC1.
what is the best way to upgrade???
should I uninstall the old bridge and install the new one
or should I upgrade with upgrade file!!!!!!!!!
let me know please
 I do not want to screw up my site !!
if you have a step by step upgrade info, that helps out a lot

did anybody upgraded and what is their opinion ??

just get the patch, there's an instruction on the download page. then you need to un-patch and re-patch the joomla index.php from the installation checklist.

You can uninstall and re-install the full package too.
The only downside of re-installing is, you're forum "menu id" will change. It can be change back though by editing the menu id from joomla menu table.

hey johhny!
 I did patch my smf forum component the way you explained
everything was smooth and no problems

I'd had problem uploading with FTP
so I'd uploaded patch files with MAMBOXPLORER

mamboxplorer is a life saver !!!!!!!!
