"No such user" error on first login to forum?
« on: December 19, 2005, 08:39:07 AM »

I tried searching the forums first, but either I did something wrong or I'm just dumb. Smiley

Okay, I'm using:

Joomla 1.0.4
SMF 1.1 RC1
Joomla-SMF forum bridge 1.0.2a

I'm using the CB login module for login/registration.

I have SMF wrapped (with the bridge interface setting) into Joomla.
When people log into the FORUM (not to the Joomla site) for the FIRST time after signing up, they get a no such user error. If they wait a minute and try again, they're there and can log in without problems. This seems to only happen on the very first time they try to login to the forum after signing up. They can log into the Joomla site fine. (The forum is set to be viewd by registered users only, and no guests can access the forum either. Double security, and yes, we need it.)

If I MANUALLY sync the tables before the person tries to log in, they're there. But it's like the database will not update in the SMF forum until someone registered in Joomla tries to log into the forum. I tested it, and there was no entry for the test account until I tried to login, got the error, tried again and got in. Then I logged back in as admin, and yes the user was then there.

Is there 1) a workaround to this bug? 2) a setting I missed? 3) a way to customize the error message to tell them their settings are updated, try again now? or something?

I am NOT a .php programmer, but if someone tells me do 1-2-3 I can follow instructions.

Thanks!
Lesli in SWFL.
