Hi,

i just installed the Joomla-SMF Forum 1.0.2a bridge on a Joomla 1.0.4 and SMF 1.1 RC1 board.

The installation worked without any errors under "INSTALLATION CHECKLIST" and i also patched all needed files.

Unfortunatly if i publish the Forum link a blank white index.php Joomla site appears. I also tried it with other Joomla templates without success.

What can it be?

versions of my server are:
PHP Version 4.1.0
mySQl 3.23.48
Apache/1.3.23

please post a link to your site.  In addition, when you say "link", does that mean you added a URL link as a menu item?

i mean the normal SMF component at the main menu, not an URL link.

the interesting fact is that i had exactly the same problem with the blank index page while using the "other" MOS-SMF bridge ( http://mamboforge.net/projects/mos-smf/ )...

is it true that the patch add the line "Joomla Bridge by JoomlaHacks.com" under the forum copyright?

because i canīt see that under my SMF forum....

Update: found all joomlahacks.com changes in the patched files...

Update2: under "Menu Manager [ mainmenu ]" is the Forum menu item as "Component -" listed, not "Component - Joomla SMF Bridge" or anything else..., is that right?

I did not see a forum link on your menu bar.  Do you currently have it disabled?  Can you enable it so I can access the blank white index?

If this occured with another bridge then I think this may be a problem specific to your site.  Hopefully we can get it resolved.

The "joomla bridge by joomlahacks.com" message is seen only when accessing the forums through the component.

update2:  If you are unsure about the menu manager link create a new one with these steps:

1) Login to Joomla Administration
2) Click the menu that you wish to add the link to under the Menu drop down
3) Click New in the top left
4) Select 'Component' under 'Components' for the New Menu Item
5) Click 'Next'
6) Type the name 'JoomlaSMF test' for your menu link
7) Select 'Joomla-SMF Forum' for the component
Cool Select 'yes' for Published
9) Click Save

Now go to your site and refresh the page.  Then select 'JoomlaSMF test' from the menu.  Do you still get the blank white screen?  If so, please leave the link and let me know so I can access your site and see what you see.

wow the first success...

i created the new forum component link at the main menu and now itīs say "Component - Joomla-SMF Forum" under Type.

The Joomla index.php is now reachable, unfortunatly not the Forum-URL at the menu http://www.rapz.de/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,185/

There is still a blank white page....

Update: deactivated SEF, but with no success, thereīs also a blank forum page...

Do you have access to your web server error_logs for your site?  Maybe you can check there to see what the failure is.  There should be something in the log pertaining to this issue.  If you want, post the last 100 or so messages in a PM to me.

Yea i made all configurations in the "Joomla-SMF Forum Configuration". all with success and the right path...
i can send you a screenshot if you donīt trust that...  Wink

I also have access to the error logs, but the last error log was 1 hour away, i deleted the error file (was 50 MB) and waited that a new error file is created but with no luck...

the fact is that the com module caused the blank page error at the main page with the faulty "Component - Joomla-SMF Forum" menu entry, so there is the same error at the forum index page, but the question is what the error is...

i deinstalled now the com module and installed it again....

again it creates a wrong "Component -" menu component instead of "Component - Joomla-SMF Forum"....

i deleted the menu component and created it manually, the new link is:

http://www.rapz.de/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,187/

... still with the same error... (blank page)
