1  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: JSMF CB Plugin error - cant retreive password on: February 04, 2008, 04:05:58 PM
hmm well i had to reinstall my site from scratch and im using Joomla 1.0.13
com_smf 2.0.2.1
Smf 1.1.4

This little code changed worked perfectly for me last time then i was able to upgrade from com_smf 2.0.2 to the 2.0.2.1 bugfix version and that solved my password sync errors as well. Now this time around after changing the above code i dont get the dialog error box anymore but it still says Password Reset Failed! on my page no error messages or anything. Anyone have a clue as to why it would all of a sudden fail?

Sweet, this fix fixed all my changing password issues along with the forgot password issues. Everything seems to be syncing just as it should now. And for those of you asking where to get this... take a look at the first post in this topic its attached.

Yup! FINALLY!!!  Grin that did it, forgot pass works, user manually changing pass works, all logins work fine i cant find any problems so far everything seems to be syncing just fine. Thanks for that Rob, i actually looked at that post multiple times but i neer seen it mention anything about fixing the password changes so i never paid much attention to it. Im going to test the changing usernames next, not sure if it fixes that or just passwords.

Ok, but im using a fresh install of Version Information:
Your Joomla version is: 1.0.13
Your SMF version is: 1.1.4
Your Joomla-SMF version: 2.0.2

i never upgraded and im still having this problem so i doubt its due to upgrading...

Ok wait, i retract my previous statement. For some reason the forgot password link is now working, if a user selects "forgot password" and has a new one generated and e-mailed to them it works fine when they log in, in both CB and SMF however no one wants a password of "yf8a60f1" so of course they are going to try to change it. When they try to change it VIA their CB profile, next time they log in THEN they get the error message invalid user or password and they are logged into the site just not SMF. So im guessing it has something to do with the CB plugin that comes with the JSMF bridge??

What about passwords? If a user uses the Forgot Password link or changes their password in CB manually it does not sync it to SMF either. When they go to login VIA CB it says invalid username or password, then refreshes the page and they are logged in! But when they go to the forums they are not its just simply not syncing the password changes either. Anyway to fix this?

I have been having the same problem and been posting EVERYWHERE to try to get help seems either no one else is having the same problem or no one knows how to fix it.. When a user tries to change their username or password they get the error that Oddsodz posted images of, this is due to CB and SMF not syncing the usernames and passwords. Which the username is easily fixed by not allowing users to change their username (still needs to be fixed but it works for now) however if a user uses the forgot password feature it sends them a new password which only works in CB and doesnt sync it to SMF... its very annoying and causing all kinds of confusing and problems in my site is there anyone that can fix this? Thanks for your help.
9  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Error WIth Users Display Pics Using SMF Profile 2.1.1 on: December 27, 2007, 08:42:22 PM
Ok well i was halfway able to fix this problem, now when a users syncs their picture from CB to smf then edits their smf profile using the SMF Profile 2.1.1  plugin it updates their info correctly just now their display picture is gone from SMF and they have to go back to their CB profile and sync it once again its quite annoying and seems i cant find a fix for this? Anyone else using this same plugin and having the same problem?

Cool, thanks it worked like a charm but theres still a little problem, when a user changes their password VIA CB or using the forgot password link it does NOT sync their password into SMF forums and they get that error message saying invalid username and or password but then it refreshes and lets them in the site. Its just not changing their password in SMF for some reason any fix for this?
11  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Error WIth Users Display Pics Using SMF Profile 2.1.1 on: December 18, 2007, 01:08:53 AM
Hello, im using CB Plugin - SMF Profile 2.1.1 and the syncing of pics and everything else seems to work just fine but when you go to edit your SMF profile and click save it gives you an error message saying that, that url is invalid or something of that sort im guessing this is due to hotlinking so you have to change it to no pic then after your done editing the SMF profile you have to go back and sync your display picture again. How can i go about fixing this?
12  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: J-SMF Calendar Module on: May 26, 2007, 12:20:03 AM
I as well have been searching for some kind of integration between SMF's calendar and joomla i would like to find something that will allow you to display a calendar in joomla module and have them integrated with eachother.
13  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Problem, Users Changing User name on: May 26, 2007, 12:13:50 AM
Hello there, when anyone tries to change their user name it gives an erro seeing as the name doesn't exist in SMF forums it thinks theres a problem changing e-mails was a problem but it seems to have been fixed now. Could someone please help me out? On my site my users tend to like to change their user name often so this is something i need to tend to. Thanks for your help in advance.

Oh! I suppose as a quick fix i could always force the JSMF component to sync real names instead of usernames correct? But by doing this i need to make it to where my users are unable to change their real name how would i go about doing that?
14  Joomla Hacks / Feedback / Re: Joomla SMF Feature Suggestion on: May 17, 2007, 02:02:15 PM
I would most certainly LOVE to see this integration there is no forums like SMF none come even close to comparison!! I also have a few friends that are interested in this mod. Im trying to get everyone interested to start posting here maybe if we get enough demand someone will actually work on this. Thanks!
15  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: JSMF 2.0 Final - Using with Mambo 4.5.4 SP3 on: May 06, 2007, 04:47:25 AM
Hallo,

I am using the SMF-BRidge since al lot of versions and first I want to say THANKS for the great work.

Now I upgraded my system from Mambo 4.5.2.3 up to 4.5.4 SP3. Normaly I wanted update up to 4.6.1 but there is the Login-Problem which is discussed in a lot of forums. Well, now I have the following configuration:

Mambo 4.5.4 SP3
SMF 1.1.1
Bridge 2.0 Final

I installed everything like described in the Tutorial, but I get the folowing error-MEssage:

"Fatal error: main() [function.main]: The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition "jsmfFrontend" of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ unserialize() gets called or provide a __autoload() function to load the class definition in /var/www/html/web/html/cms/index.php on line 56"

Could anybody tell me whats the Problem? Is the JSMF-Bridge not anymore working with Mambo?

Thanks for answering. BEcaus I dont get any of the Bridge-Versions working? The last version I used (1.1 Beta) crashed the system after the using with Mambo 4.5.4.

Greetings from Alex
I am having this same problem, now i understand that its because its not properly patching the mambo index files seeing as its all setup for joomla. Then why advertise it as working for both joomla and mambo?? I have searched these forums high and low and couldnt find anything to make this component work with mambo which is a shame seeing as its the best bridge out there!! Could someone please help? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time.
