actually, after reading what you wrote in the other forum, it SMF that invokes GPL code not the other way around.

those function are directly called from SMF integration callbacks ...they primarily interact with the database and could be rewritten to use the SMF database handles.

It would be a shame if SMF support is removed.

The flash guide was provided by one of our members and worked at the time of writing.  How is the site dead?  Did you not backup the tables?  There isn't a SQL query that can do it alone, you need a php script to handle this.  There was never one written for this type of procedure.  Unfortunately I simply don't have the time due to real life so my recommendation is to revert to your backup.

Wow, such hostility towards Livebox who is generously donating his free time to provide a free service.  And you just ripped someone who doesn't receive any of the donations.  Way to say thanks for attempting to help.

I got your report to moderator email.  I wonder what the Joomla core team and SMF core team will say.  Did you email them yet?

In the end, your problem could have been solved by you reading the user guide but instead you choose to come here, post the same question that has been posted before, and then flame a moderator for telling you that the user guide is to guide the users such as yourself.  By not reading it you say screw you to my time and his which we have put into this project and writing that document.  I'd rather you just uninstalled the bridge and didn't post at all.

I'm sorry to say that I simply don't have the time to work on the bridge anymore.  You all have probably noticed my lack of availability lately and I do apologize.  The moderators have been helping a ton and I cannot say enough thanks to them, especially Livebox who has done so much, thank you!  I hope to pick the project back up one day but my real life projects have me working 16 hour days as it is.  I simply can't squeeze anymore time in a day without going nuts.

I am open to others working on or taking over the project so please just message me if you are interested.

Thanks for all the support you all have put into this community over the past year that I have been working on this bridge.  You all made it very fun for me.  Thanks.

Josh

the error points to a function from joomlatwork.
7  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Problem Re-Installing JSMF Brifge on: May 05, 2007, 12:01:20 AM
sounds like you installed smf and joomla in the same directory, instead of installing smf in a subdirectory of joomla.

9  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.0.x / Re: Login problem..super urgent on: May 04, 2007, 11:58:37 PM
joomlahacks 1.0.2 didn't unpatch, JSMF 2.0 does unpatch.  Just use FTP to delete the directories

components/com_smf
administrator/components/com_smf

12  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: SMF displaying Real Name instead of Display Name on: April 26, 2007, 08:16:14 PM
this happens on registration or update.  Make sure you have username selected as the display method in the JSMF config.

To update the current members use this query

UPDATE smf_members SET realName = memberName

those are debug messages, not errors despite the message.  Those are more for my development than to alert you of an error.  Turn off debug to remove them.

Hi wolverine,
I've some questions about the CB<->SMF synch.
First of all, I disabled avatar management via smf because I want to handle it only through CB.

1) About images moderations, i.e., users update their personal picture/avatar getting the famous image "pending approval". It's exactly the behaviour wanted.
The problem is that the pictaure is updated into SMF Profile on the fly (you can view even via the smf_login module) without waiting for Administrators moderations.

Could you help me on this? Furthermore, if I choose to reject image (offensive pics, harrassement, porn, or whatever) the smf profile keeps that inopportune picture as well  Angry
Is it possible to synch them only after administrator moderations?
this is a feature lacking in CB.  There is no avatar approval synchronization.  I have reported it.

2) I need to keep other field synched (gender, birthday, zodiac signs, etc etc) and quite all infos available both cb and smf profile.

Could you suggest me how to do it?
For example, how can I keep in synch the gender? (I've a CB field called cb_gender ...).

Thanks in advance.

A.

Philippe, extremely valuable feedback!  I have merged your suggestions into the bridge and will take a look at the smf id issue.  Actually, I filed a bug report with CB stating that a change in username should send both the old and new username to any triggered plugins.
