1  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Users imported from SMF to Joomla cant login! on: April 04, 2007, 06:09:17 AM
Hi, guys!

The problem is on the encryption function.

Smf uses sha1, and joomla uses md5. That is because user cant login. The password cant be de-encrypted ( from Sha1-SMF ) and then encrypted with md5-JOOMLA.

The solution is that your users use "Forgot password". Then a password wil be generated. With that passw they login at joomla, an uses "Edit Profile" (buttom from CB ) and change they passw as they like.

Once changed,in order to passw work on two systems Joomla and SMF. They need to logout an login again at Joomla, with the new password. Wink

Hope, i help you!

Regards! Grin
2  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / [BUG REPORT] Code in admin.smf_class.php on: March 17, 2007, 08:16:37 PM
Hey guy's!  i was trying to know why the passwords wen stnch doesnt stay the saem. Logically if we aply a md5 over a sha1 well never get the correct encryption of the pass... so each user who was on joomla and goes to smf with the synch of JSMF bridge have to renew his password in order to synch it at joomla and SMF.

whe i go to the "Forgot password" option, at CB login, an error was ocurred, saying that the table was not found! I correct that, but after i have another error saying that "id" colum doesnt exists!

I fix this 2 issues editing the code of the file at te topic. It is located at /administrator/components/com_smf directory.

And here are the lines:

( global $jsmfConfig; ) That global declaration was missing, i wrote it and now the query goes ok and take the "prefix" for the tables of smf  at "UPDATE {$jsmfConfig->smf_prefix}members ".

The other error was on the query, at WHERE clausure, i replaced the "id" with the correct "WHERE ID_MEMBER = '$smf_id' ";";

I dont know is this is fixed, i downloaded the component 2 days ago. Anyway i think is good to colaborate Smiley

Thanks all, and sorry for my english!!

Hi guys!

I had read a lot of post about login issues but no exactly that!

The problem is that when hy synch users from SMF, okay they are created on to joomla and i can see them.
