1  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: New bridge for SMF 114? on: September 28, 2007, 03:00:58 AM
OK were you guys able to complete the patch through admin/packages in smf or did you have to do it manually. Everytime I have tried to upload the package I receive an error stating the package is corrupt or wrong version...
i did the upgrade through the package manager, i earlier got errors while upgrading to 112 i guess, but then decided to go on with the process and eveything went fine

Hey came here to ask the same question and I see we have some good feedback! I have one question we still need to make sure we have un-patched the source files before upgrading correct? Just wanted to make sure... Thanks

Yes, very important is to first unpatch the SMF files, than upgrade in the package manager and after that patch the files again.

i think you have a problem while you don't use the new bridge. passwords and usernamestorage have been changed in joomla 1013 so the old bridge you use don't work anymore.
try to work with the new one

if you use the 202 version in combination with J! 1012 is it better to uninstall the 202 and install the 2021 version before upgrading Joomla?
is it that simple?
People who visit the forum, are they affected when they visit the forum after the new bridge and J! 1013 is installed?

Q/A testers have the bridge! As soon as they take a look at it, we'll get it published!

WOHOO Great!

this sounds like if the new bridge is tested and found okay, we can upgrade to J! 1013!

Fantastic news

it is already there. and ive already tried other themes, replaced all files, etc. its all in the smf topic link i provided, which is why i didnt go ahead and reiterate it here.

can't it be that you tried to remove the SMF logo in the header and also wiped out the copyright?

There is only an small issue with the J! 1.0.13 login routine. (there are some security changes on this one) So you can read on the forums that the advise is not to upgrade to J! 1.0.13.
yes superdaan, thats what i mean. the whole userdatabase has changed in J! 1013 so the Jhacks bridge doesn't work anymore.
on several forums people talk about this saying that there won't be any bridge for J and SMF.
I hope that the Jhacks bridge will be changed so that it works on 1013 installations.
on J! 1012 latest SMF and Jbridge 202 it works like a charm
TIA

wow that would be great if we could stay on using the joomlahacks bridge and login module etc.
The whole GPL issue is getting more and more people angry. all that sites that use joomla and smf using a bridge are experiencing problems....
i hope this is gonna work, then we could all upgrade and use the JSMF bridge.
The component is now working very good on J 1012 and latest SMF
