1  Joomla Hacks / Feedback / Re: Support and the direction of Joomlahacks on: September 12, 2007, 01:05:16 AM
Daan,

Thank you for your post. The problem right now is I am so occupied by my day job. And I don't really have a lot of time to offer support right now. So it's just up to the community to help each other until I get some free time after my job contract.

As far are the ads are concerned, it's been there. And It just have to be there just like all other websites. I have responsibility to pay for the monthly rate on my dedicated server. It's not like I'm getting rich here, otherwise I would have just quit my day job and focus on this. I hope everyone understands, otherwise this website will just go offline.

I am looking forward to continue development and improvements, but I really can't say when. And I really thank everyone who has helped in providing support on the bridge. I've done it initially by myself with no help from anyone. And I did it for more than a year. But you know, this is not a career, this is a hobby.

Well i'm not sure what's happening so I deleted my reaction.

I would say there should be no issue. All of us helped Joomla and SMF reach where they are now.

You need to install SMF.
Then, put the SMF absolute path. Normally "/smf" or "/forum".

5  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / JSMF development will continue on: June 25, 2007, 12:43:27 AM
I just want to tell everyone that I will be continuing development of the JSMF component as Wolverine takes a break. Some of you might not know me, but I started JSMF way back from the Mambo times, and of course it was called Mambo-SMF. I was doing development until JSMF version 1.2 when Wolverine picked it up.

I'll try my best to give support. But please bare with me.

Josh,
Thanks for picking this project up. You've kept this project alive! I know i haven't been around as much as how I used to. But my reasons then are the same as your reasons now.

Goodluck!

To all new users,
I might find some time in the coming months to continue where Wolverine left off. I will also try to give user support when I can, when i'm online. So please bare with me.

To all the expert users,
It would be a big help if you can help new members in the JoomlaHacks community forum as well.

Thanks.
Cowboy

Don't worry guys. I will pick it up again.
I'll work on this when I can.
But I can't promise much because I am still busy with job and family.
8  Joomla Addon Discussion / Joomla Components / Re: Social Networking With Joomla on: June 25, 2007, 12:12:28 AM
I've been thinking of doing this... and until now i am still just thinking. There is no good component out there to handle it. CB maybe ok, but i'm still waiting for something robust.
9  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: When do I receive my activation code? on: May 25, 2007, 01:27:47 PM
I've sent all pending activation codes.
Please send an email to the paypal email if you didn't get it.

I can't do anything about OpenSEF.

About having it pre-programmed, of course that is doable by someone technical enough to make changes on the code.

There will be a message saying "Email Sent" when the message is sent.

That warning on unpack function seems to be a bug on your PHP version. http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=31465

Can you have your PHP upgraded?
12  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: The "other" bridge :: No Joomla 1.5 bridge possible says Orstio on: January 15, 2007, 06:46:25 PM
Thanks for the info.

And I just want to say, there is no such thing as "IMPOSSIBLE" in programming. There is always a way. The only challenge is doing the right implementation, which the Jhacks team has always aimed for.

But of course we cannot avoid some hiccups along the way. We just have to fix it.
13  Joomla Addon Discussion / Joomla Components / Re: Invite component not working on: January 15, 2007, 06:34:07 PM
I updated this component to 1.2 with some fixes for PHP 5.2.0. This is *tested* on PHP 4.x and PHP 5.2.0.

If you have PHP 5.0.x/5.1.x and it's still not working on your system. You might want to ask you hosting provider to upgrade PHP to 5.2.0.

Look at this PHP 5 change log. There were a lot of bug fixes under 5.2.0.

14  Hosting Discussion / Hosting Offers / Re: Joomla Hosting Promo : 25gb / 400gb starting @ $4.95 on: January 14, 2007, 09:02:53 PM
I was just emailed by them and told me that this discount offer is ending today. So hurry up. These guys don't often offer discounts.
15  Joomla Addon Discussion / Joomla Components / Re: Invite component not working on: January 13, 2007, 10:59:08 AM
I need to know what PHP version... etc you are using. I can't help you without this information. Because it is working on my system.

Like I said, I don't have a lot of time to do support for a "FREE" component. And I hope you all understand this. I'm maybe avaiable on weekends to work for few hours on this.
