1  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: DiscussBot and Automatically Create on: January 19, 2007, 01:35:02 PM
Ok...thanks Wolverine.  My problem is that I misunderstood how Mambots work.  I thought that the topic would not be created until someone clicked on Discuss.  It looks like they are actually created as soon as you load a page with the article on it.  My concern was that if someone tried to comment on an article that had not been commented on before but was past the expiration date, the topic would not get created.  I see now that that will not happen.

Thanks for your great tools!

A setting of 0 for Disable Auto Create After will cause no topics to be auto created.  Change that to at least 1.

Hi Wolverine, that worked.  There may be a mistake in the documentation though, because the help text in the mambot manager when you hover over "Disable Auto Create After" says that "0 is always allow auto-creation".

Since that doesn't work, what can I set "Disable Auto Create After" to if I want to always allow it?
3  General Discussion / SEO Discussion / Re: Lets be honest... never saw really nice url's with the smf-joomla bridge and SEF on: January 18, 2007, 02:10:49 AM
Yes! On there website it's a paid solution:

Their website says it is tested with Ortiso's bridge.  Does anyone know if it has been tested with the JoomlaHacks.com bridge?

Ok, I've got The latest version of the smf bridge installed here and have also edited my templates and everything is working great...except for the discussbot.  I set it to "Automatically Create", but no topic is created in my forums.  When you click to discuss an article, it brings up the smf page to create the topic, but I am wanting the topic to be automatically created without this step since only admins will be able to create topics in this forum.  I attached a picture of my DiscussBot configuration.
5  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Integration bug when using Carbonation Theme on: January 17, 2007, 01:54:00 AM
I figured out my problem and am posting the solution here in case other people find this useful.  I had to modify the SMF theme I was using.  Here is a good guide to the modifications.  Thanks for a great bridge.
6  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Integration bug when using Carbonation Theme on: January 16, 2007, 02:14:13 PM
Hi, I just downloaded your package last night.  It really looks like a great solution, but I've run into a problem.  I have the Joomla Carbonation theme installed as well as the SMF Carbonation theme, and when I have "Wrapped Integration" mode turned on, I get two <head> sections in my code for the forum.  If I switch SMF to another theme, it seems to work.  Any idea what is going wrong or what I can do to fix it?  Thanks for your help!

Here is a link if you want to see what I am referring to:  http://www.iphonenation.com/
