I was wondering what the experts would do to maximize there learning experience in the shortest possible time if they had there time again as a total newb. I am interested in eventually designing Joomla web site's for a living. I currently work as an I.T technician but am looking to move away from this into Web Design
I am guessing I would need to have a good knowledge of Macromedia Fireworks (or similar) to seriously edit templates and naturally I know I would need to be very familiar with Joomla.
Would learning PHP or HTTP be adventitious?
Anything else?
I would like to know apart from experience exactly what I need to learn. I do not want to waste any time on the wrong course like I have done many times before.
I am aware that I can't achieve this in a day and have no intentions of trying too so I am far from trying to belittle just how big a task this will be. Im more looking for a direction by those who have been there and done that. I would like to make a start right now as I have fallen in Love with Joomla after our introduction only a week ago. Until now I have used Frontpage or sub contracted the more difficult sites out yet here I am making a superb site with Joomla and have far exceeded what I have achieved with Frontpage in years in a matter of days.
So, what do you recommend would be most beneficial too me to make the best Joomla sites I can in time.
