Is there any way of having the joomla recent topics module pull from a forum i have located on another site ? What file(s) would i have to modify so it connects to another database/site to do this ?

so if example1.com has joomla and example2.com has smf, how can i get smf recent topics to work on examplea.com to pull data from exampleb.com

In working with joomla the search component is very weak. Is there a way to improve the search by tagging keywords to particular pages.

Right now when I search a keyword pages show up first that are less important that just have the keyword instead of a page that is based solely on the keyword.

Do you have a fix or recommendation ?

im back to the white screen when i patch the joomla file .. any idea what causes that ?

sorry to spam but i was recommended from this site to upgrade my smf , joomla and bridge which i did and everything stopped working properly now and im desparately trying to get my site working properly.

Please Describe the Issue:

When I patch the joomla file I get 'The page cannot be diplayed' on the home page. I need the recent posts module working but I guess I cant get it working unless I get the bridge working properly.

Any Ideas what causes this ?

This happens when I patch the Joomla index.php file taht I get the page cannot be displayed error.

Not sure if this is a better or worse bug then the blank screen. But im getting 'The page cannot be displayed' screen when I click both patch:

click to patch      Patch Joomla Source Files.
click to patch             Patch SMF Source Files (Note: Unpatch before upgrading SMF or installing mod.)

Not only do I get a blank screen but now I have this error in my recent posts module:

Fatal error: Undefined class name 'jsmffrontend' in /home/virtual/site57/fst/var/www/html/modules/mod_smf_recenttopics.php on line 64

Two problems ... any ideas ?

I upgraded my joomla and used the jsmf bridge 2.0.2.1 as recommended .. still have a blank screen.... anyone have an idea why this doesnt work

When I installed the component I got a blank screen on the joomla homepage ... is this fixable I cant find an answer anywhere for this.

I added the component joomla-smf component to the main_menu.

Im getting this error:

I installed: Joomla-SMF 1.0.2a/SMF 1.1RC1/Joomla 1.0.5

When I register a new user I get this error:

 You were unable to login. Please check your cookie settings.

Then when i check the email it give a  link that goes to the forum UNWRAPPED.

How do I fix this ?
