Our website was functioning perfectly OK until the Linux servers have had their PHP versions upgraded from 5.0 to 5.2.1.
Now we get this error message
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 11534336) (tried to allocate 311296 bytes) in /websites/LinuxPackage02/di/dc/ot/didcottownfc.com/public_html/modules/mod_smf_login.php on line 405
I have a Joomla site with SMF and the JSMF bridge http://www.didcottownfc.com I want a slightly differerent logo when you go into the Forum. Anyone know how to acheive this? Thanks Philip
sorry mate I didn't see your last post. The othe bridge Guru told me that Magic Quotes would have nothing to do with a bridge not installing so I had given up on this Posting. I've just followed your advice and demanded the error log from Pipex WegFusion support. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Meantime if they are unable to send it to me, what next? I went to the links below and its way over my head. I'm not a programmer remember. Thanks for your help Philip
Whats your name? I can't call you Wolverine, thats childish, I'm 54! Don't get cross, my comments weren't meant to stab you. You must remember that this past weekend was incredibly frustrating trying to get something to work and sitting in front of a screen hoping someone would help. Your competitor's bridge is installed and it works but was not at all satisfied so I unpublished it. Rockettheme use your bridge and I want to as well. Thing is as I've already said Pipex WebFusion shared hosting has Magic Quotes OFF as standard and I cannot change this. Are you saying I will be able to use the JSMF bridge? I'm getting a template from Rockettheme with an SMF template that matches so I've got to get your bridge to work. One question, will you be developing a bridge for when Joomla gets upgraded to 1.5? I would appreciate an action plan for me to get the bridge functioning thanks for your help Philip
Listen mate Im not that ignorant. If I had access to an error log I could have worked it out myself. We all hav'nt got dedicated servers! There are a ton of people in the world who have clients with shared hosting with various features available. Don't keep telling me to read the userguide because i followed it to the letter, and it don't work! Thanks for trying to help
I spent a couple of hours with Marcus a guy from Holland. We finally established that it is because Magic Quotes is OFF. I am on shared hosting with Pipex WebFusion and am unable to turn it on. Also I have no access to an error log. Anyway it all worked until i pressed the click to patch the index file. After that the site faied to load. I think it needs testing before its let loose on the world. Meantime I got a guy to install the SMF bridge. But that wasn't totally satisfactory either. So I've unpublished it all and left the Forum in a wrapper. It works fine.
Hi Given up trying to install this bridge, A Dutch guy who tried to help me and we discovered that I was unable to turn magic Quotes ON and probably that was the reason that the site would'nt load. Now I'm trying to load the official smf_1-1_joomla_1-1-6_bridge I've actually got the bridge author Orstio 'on the case' so I'll tell you what later. Lets hope it gets sorted.
I just installed a completely fresh SMF using admin as the username and I'm still getting a blank screen. Everything is fine in the front end and the backend, but as soon as I press click to patch the index.php file That is when the site fails to load!! Thanks for your help Any more ideas? regards Philip
No NO NO, I cannot register when there is a blank screen!!!!!!! When I've installed the JSMF component into Joomla I have to patch the index.php file and after this the front end fails to load
