1  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: I' can't patch smf file source on: January 29, 2007, 12:26:01 PM
Hey dafebe,

You say you downloaded joomla_index_patched_1_0_12.zip

The index.php file that is in that zip archive has been patched by Wolverine (as you know) and is intended to be uploaded to your server, overwriting the original Joomla index.php file.  Once you have done that (uploaded and overwritten the index.php file with the patched one) you should be able to go to your Joomla admin for the bridge component...install... to see see that the green "done" link is now there for the patch source file step.  i.e. now that the patched index.php file is on your server, the bridge will see that step as completed (files are patched).

If it still doesn't work, it may be because your server permissions are set so that you're not actually overwriting the file.  In that case, rename/delete the orginal index.php file and then manually upload the patched file to replace it.  Make sure the file permissions are set correctly 0755 or 0644 etc (depending on your set up).  My host has a very restrictive permissions set up and I always run into problems with scripts that try to make a backup of a file before a change is made (like patching and unpatching)...

As far as the SMF patch you talk about, I'm not sure what you mean by that...
2  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Include CSS from SMF Theme NOT WORK on: January 18, 2007, 04:02:39 PM
how plz!
Joomla 1.0.12
SMF 1.1.1
JSMF_2_0_unzip1st
Theme Joomla: 247shock_brown_104
Theme SMF: SlickPro_Graphite

It looks like your Joomla theme (247shock_brown_104) does use the function:

Code:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<head>

<?php mosShowHead(); ?>

Nucleolan, what do you mean by "CSS from SMF Theme not work"?  Is it that the css styles from your Joomla site are the only styles you see in the forum?

3  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / The "other" bridge :: No Joomla 1.5 bridge possible says Orstio on: January 02, 2007, 12:31:57 PM
Hello,

I'm in the market for a bridge so I've been studying the options out there.  JSMF2.0 is on fire with the attention that Wolverine et al lavish on it...

I noticed on the SMF site a post where it was suggested that Joomla 1.5 developments prevented further development of Orstio's bridge and that he was going to focus on Mambo moving on (as far as new CMS versions).

Are we headed down the same river?  I do not know what the technical specifics are which make the two incompatible but hope fully the powers that be, do?

My apologies if this has already been raised in the last few days...
