1  Joomla Core Discussion / Joomla 1.0.x / Re: going crrazy -- need advice on menu problem on: December 18, 2006, 09:20:35 PM
...but to recap, youre saying ditch the efforts to find the weird spacing problem and completely re-mod a different template.

I agree... except dont even bother to fix it. Its the best advice I've heard. You should just get on with a more interesting and productive obsession.

Content and accessibility matter more than presentation, and you've got the content up there and accessible. People just see the quirky menu as part of the show, not as mistakes. A mistake is when the content is not accessible - yeah thats a big mistake alright!

2  Joomla Core Discussion / Joomla 1.0.x / Administrator template throws back to login form - problem and solution on: December 18, 2006, 09:09:38 PM
For a long time I've had a problem with Mambo 4.5.x/Joomla 1.0.x throwing me out of the Administrator panel into the Admin login screen. This would happen after trying to access any of the Admin Panel items just after successful login. I couldnt update my sites for 6 months!

I am using IE6.

The solution to this seems to be the "Block Pop-ups" setting in IE6. At some point I enable this feature and didnt include my Mambo/Joomla sites in the exceptions list.

I have just added my sites to the list of "Block Pop-ups" exceptions in IE6 and now everything now works fine in the Administrator panel.

NB: I cant be 100% sure because I also changed a couple of other IE6 options at the same time - mostly allow debugging type things. Either way IE6 settings is definitely the culprit.
